Vardy - brilliant in a game where he is so isolated and should be left disappointed by his teammates. Worldclass player.

Kasper and Evans - solid and if not for them two the scoreline could be worst.

Maddison - a shout out for him. I think he did alright in the circumstances and he had the right ideas in terms of dropping back to help out.

Tielemans - disappointing yet again. Poor passing, loose in possession and did not work half as hard as his midfield partner.

Chilly - oh dear. He has been truly found out by Man City today. His defensive fragilities were exposed badly and he was probably specifically targeted by Man City following what was also a poor showing at Norwich. (He also passed backwards too often - quite annoying.)

Albrighton - did well in the limited time he was on and he should now definitively start ahead of ineffective constantly falling over Perez.

Others:

Ndidi - his usual self.

Ricardo - a bit off the mark offensively but defensively did OK

Soy - had a few bad moments but overall OK

Praet - too little time to do much but had the right ideas in always trying to go forward

Gray - not enough time to do much

Kasper 9 and MOTM without him they could have been 6 or 7 against us

Vardy 8 without him we wouldn’t be anywhere near  2nd

Evans, Soyuncu 7s, the latter not at his best but still a great partnership

Ndidi 6 just never gives up but not one of his best games

Ricardo 6 as above but woefully let down by Perez in front of him

Chilwell 5 had no help whatsoever from Barnes but looked nervy and panicky, Fuchs in.

Maddison & Tielemans 5 pretty anonymous today, both looked tired

Barnes 5 needs to get a goal and I would prefer him on the right away from Chilwell

Perez 3 looks a forlorn figure, not the player I expected, needs some Rodgers magic

Albrighton 6 had a good go when he came on, should start against the scally’s

Praet 5 not on for long enough but still think he’s a great asset

Gray 3 just not good enough for us if we are to push for Europe, trade/swap or sell

Man City were excellent and DeBruyne unplayable today, Mahrez wasn’t far behind him, their best performance of the season, but for a deflected goal and debatable penalty we might have had a point.

Rodgers STAY most definitely....

In two or three post match / pre match interviews, Brendan has said something along the lines of “play like a big side”. In all the games (except Chelsea 2nd half) we’ve played big clubs, we haven’t played like a big side and still act like little old Leicester. I trust him to get there, but we need some ‘big players’ to help that otherwise we will always end up selling our best youngsters etc. And never progress. There is a fantastic new training ground on the horizon so steps to continually grow are evident, but at the moment, we are who we are and it won’t change overnight

On this match in isolation, we were pressed aggressively and showed a lack of intensity in pressing them. It felt like the plan was sit deep and counter, anything else was just panic stations.

Now the dust has settled, time to remember just how young this side is, but also we are in very early stages of building something special long term
