Does it ever dry out near the by pass? :)

Narrow boat constantly moored up Quorn side of that footbridge always has a Range Rover next to it so they live on it, hope they’ve got waders on. Range Rover might be in the soar now.

I live on a boat in Barrow and used to moor at Proctors, when it flooded badly three years ago I was up to my shoulders in water when I got off the boat.

Thankfully where we are now the water only comes over the edge a couple of inches deep.

One solution to the problem of flooding... beavers! It pains me to give a link to The Guardian, but this article suggests that beavers' dams would help slow down the rate of flow of water feeding into our rivers, thus reducing the chances of river levels suddenly rising after heavy rainfall.

Beavers cause more problems than they solve.

Completely false. Literally all of the scientific evidence says Beavers drastically benefit the environment and biodiversity, hence they are a keystone species. Not to mention that they are a native species and truly belong here.

If the rivers need damming, let’s just dam the god damn rivers. We don’t need overgrown rodent to do it for us.

Got lots of snow here but no flooding thankfully. I only walk to work so not in any danger trying to get the car out. We only recovered about 6 months ago from the October 2023 floods.

All roads out of my village are under water, so I can't get to work this morning. :(

It’s the same where I am, probably not the same village as it’s common place nowadays.

I am right in saying you are Sheffield based? Seems familiar form what you may have previously said…

I'm in Asfordby but all the local villages are chaos. Sileby, Syston, Cossington.

Gone from Loughborough to Atherstone today. Too an hour answer 45 minutes, for what's normally a 40-45 minute drive.

Should have turned round the moment I i saw the crossroads at the Spartan chipshop was flooded. Ended up crawling down the A42/M42 and A5. Going home A5, M69 and M1 i think.

Drove to work which was fine via the A46 but had to park nearby and get picked up to actually make it in. Our office is by Rothley brook and that has completely flooded, it's scarcely been the same as it was for a couple of years.
