Nalis Posted 10 April 2020 Posted 10 April 2020 Who do you consider overrated? For me its Ledley King. Seen an article which inspired this thread when England defenders of 2000s were reviewed and a load of people were jizzing over him saying he's the best of that generation. I really don't get and never have, think it was a case of people remembering a select handful of games were he played well and assuming if he was fit he would have played at that level constantly, rather than remembering the rest were he was decent enough but nowhere near Rio / Terry's levels. Or they're blinkered Spurs fans. Or both.

Izzy Posted 10 April 2020 Posted 10 April 2020 Just waiting for someone to come along and say Paul Scholes so we can have that debate again

But if you watch closely, he's aiming for the top bins corner stanchion of the net and hits it flush on

Soar Fox Posted 10 April 2020 Posted 10 April 2020 Once Michael Carrick retired he became overrated. You would have thought he was prime Iniesta or Xavi by the way he’s been spoke about since finishing.

No doubt he was a quality player and seems to be a top bloke from interviews but he wasnt think world class midfielder now he's retired.
chrishlcfc Posted 10 April 2020 Posted 10 April 2020 Pogba and Ozil are the 2 recent ones that are most definitely overrated

Being a legend of the game doesn't mean you're always right in your opinion. There are plenty of legendary players who've turned out to be awful managers and evaluators of talent.
