Well according to a Italian newspaper, Boris went off to Italy for a long weekend last weekend. Rumoured to meet his Russian mate, Lebedev

Given that Telegraph article where I was holding back the tears about how hard up he is currently, you’ll really couldn’t write it

Ought to be easy to clarify.....

- Perugia airport issued an official press release about Luis Suarez flying in, which mentioned visits by Johnson, Blair & the Prada CEO

- Several airport employees also claim Johnson passed through the airport, one stating his precise flight times

- No. 10 denies that he was there at all

- On the date of his alleged outbound flight, he made his Zoom call to Tory MPs, which was disrupted by a poor connection

- Over the weekend, according to the Sun and the Telegraph, he was getting his son christened at a private ceremony in a secret location

- His alleged return flight was reportedly delayed on Monday....on a morning when he cancelled official visits....but says he did attend a Covid meeting in London

If he did fly to Italy to get his kid christened, I don't see a problem with that, even if it's not a good look.....though a long weekend off at a time like this would need explaining.

Telling a pack of lies about his movements would be an issue, though.

It would presumably be easy for No. 10 to confirm:

- Where he made his Friday Zoom call to Tory MPs

- Where his kid was christened (now the christening has happened - privacy beforehand is understandable)

- When & where the Monday Covid meeting took place

.....official records should thereby confirm whether he's lying about flying off to Italy or whether the Italian airport/newspaper are lying or mistaken. :dunno:

Their record of covering up and lying and making excuses speaks for itself though...

Seems as if this may be the exception to the rule and Johnson may have been telling the truth for once: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/sep/21/no-10-denies-reports-boris-johnson-went-on-secret-italy-trip

- President of Perugia airport has officially denied Johnson was there the other weekend

- Westminster Cathedral has confirmed they baptised his kid as a Catholic at a private ceremony that weekend

Sounded like a non-story from the start.

Didn't stop the Twitter Left salivating like dogs, even based on flimsy evidence.

Maybe the Twitter Right shouldn't read tweets by the Twitter Left and vice-versa, then there might be a whole lot less saliva - and bile - dripping about the world!

So much poison and polarisation.....I'm glad that I avoid Twitter in favour of Foxes Talk.

Turn up for the books, though, that a bloke known and twice sacked for lying should be caught telling the truth....next thing you know, he'll be producing that oven-ready Brexit deal. :D

I don't follow many political types so I try and avoid seeing all the bile.

If I didn't find it useful for work, I'd sack Twitter off.

Such a nasty place these days.

Yeah almost as bad as that non-story where the Twitter right got their knickers in a twist when Starmer dared to buy some land for his mum on a farm! Mad ain't it?!

Oh Stan. Don't you see that it's only the left who make things up to defame people? Get with it, the "loony left" are destroying the country with this covid and brexit malarky. LOONY LEFT

You'd have liked him. He did seem a nice bloke and a decent debater with good some ideas. But then he absorbed too much guardian power and vibrated into another dimension in rage. :nono:

Okay won't go that far.

Was this other dimension a ban in to the abyss...

This was the lefties tweet picked out by BBC for starmers conference. Some of the replies to this. Jesus.

No wonder they got slapped at the last election. Starmer makes some decent points, trying to reach the voters he's lost, while dodging the problems of the day like he should, no point not letting the tories hang themselves after all and all he gets is "not muh Labour" from people who never should have been involved with the Labour Party in the first place.

If you don't think the Labour Party should try to win elections, then you're obviously in the luxurious position of not actually needing them to be in government. Bully for her.
