I honestly feel as if every day is becoming more and more pointless.

I've suffered anxiety for years, although I manage and have done through this last year, but I'm reaching the end of my tether.

I've been known as a 'covid sceptic' - now that's not because I want to hurt anyone, or cause any harm. I wear my mask (reluctantly) and I follow the (in my opinion) these pathetic authoritarian rules. Nothing can change my mind or opinion on what's happening.

One thing I will not be doing is taking the vaccine.

Never. No one can persuade me otherwise. The prospect of these 'vaccine passports' is a tough one to take. The thought that I will not be able to do the things I used to love because I want take vaccine. It's truly disturbing and I've had enough.

Why won’t you take it?

Because I don't want to.

That's my point it should be a personal choice. I thought we were in an age of Pro choice?

At the risk of being flippant, why? Just take it mate.

I don’t care if you don’t want to and respect people’s choice. Was just wondering what the reasons were especially if the stupid passports become mandatory to do things.

It is pro choice. You can either take the vaccine or not take it. That's your choice.

Not taking it will have consequences. I've had numerous vaccines to go to countries over the years. That's my choice if I want to go there.

Have you ever needed a vaccine to go to something as simple as a football match or a pub?

What a silly comparison.

I don't agree with the passport, but I find it an odd stance that you bemoan not doing being about to do something and the refuse to do the one thing that will give you freedom to do them, passport or not.

Now this is an argument I have with my mum sometimes (not vaccine related). She often says something when I visit like "Oh you wouldn't like that film" and when I ask why, whe says "I don't know". You must have something that gives you a reason to think what you think, whether it be an opinion on a film or a vaccine. So you must have a reason, why you don't want to.

Things change. There was a time you didn't need vaccines to go to certain countries as well.

Could just take the vaccine... then you would be able to do those things. Keeps us all safe

The ‘vaccine passport’ is not reliant on a vaccine.  Are you prepared to take lateral flow tests each time you need to do something that requires a VP ??

So we've had just over a week of seeing people in the garden, is anyone else like me, and had enough? I've seen my family and the wife's family, I've had enough of them. You really forget how annoying people are.

I'm gutted there's no longer a convenient excuse on the table.

Word.

Not seeing the wife's family is the only positive thing to come out of this plague.

Maybe he`s done a risk assessment on himself and looked at the stats of the covid 99%+ recovery rate.  Maybe he feels the lockdown is impacting more of his wellbeing than getting covid.

And you know the most likely way we'll get out of this lockdown.......vaccinations 🤯

So if he decided lockdown is doing more harm to him than covid might, then get the jab and get out of lockdown. Simple really.

If you're naive enough to believe these vaccinations will get us out of anything then I feel for you.

Just like 3 weeks to flatten the curve?

Just like 5 days at Christmas?

Just like sacrifice Christmas to save Easter?

Johnson said himself 2 vaccinated people still can't meet indoors?

Vaccinated people can still 'transmit' the virus.

They're purposely ripping the economy to shreds. I don't know why, but they are. If you're not even a little bit suspicious then there's no hope.

Always suspicious mate.

Vaccinated people can still carry the virus, they just won't get as ill from it.

So what will get us out of this. People like you refusing to get vaccinated and want to go about potentially spreading it to other people who aren't?

You've just contradicted yourself.

"vaccinated people can still carry the virus" - therefore they can still spread it?

Exactly the same as an unvaccinated person. They can still spread it too.

You either trust the vaccines or you don't. This is my argument about vaccine passports. If you have been vaccinated then why wouldn't you want to mix with the unvaccinated?

A cynic might say to distract attention from the economic fallout of Brexit.

I've said it before, this crisis is a godsend for the govt.

You've got to play the game mate.

It's one more number in the 'vaccinated column'. One less person some useless modeller will record as a likely death in a hypothetical catastrophic 3rd wave.

A vaccinated person can still carry it, but if we are all vaccinated, we won't get ill from it. I wouldn't want to miss with an unvaccinated person incase I had the virus (but didn't get ill because I'm vaccinated) and made them ill, because they aren't.

It is though isn't it.

You either catch it early, shut all borders and get to zero covid - which is now completely unrealistic for most countries.

Or you just let the virus run through the community and do it's thing. Survival of the fittest etc....

Or you vaccinate.

The UK has only two of those options now.

Many people say otherwise. Scientists, Doctors, Epidemiologists and all sorts of healthcare specialist's. Obviously you won't get their opinions on the BBC etc because open debate seems like witchcraft lately.

I'm not saying the vaccines don't work or are unsafe but if you cannot question science then that doesn't seem right to me. One sided science is just a belief system surely?

Not sure I understand what you're saying?

If a vaccinated or unvaccinated can spread it then what difference does it make to the third party potentially catching it?

If someone doesn't want the vaccine then that's their risk. The vaccine is there to protect yourself only surely?

This is why i don't understand the need for a vaccine passport.
