Probably the Portsmouth massacre when Sousa was in charge

Trouble is, it’s not just 45 minutes. This is many games since restart - all of which have been crap. Anyone else remember the implosion of the Taylor reign? Don’t dismiss it. It isn’t impossible. A busted flush in charge and a broken spirit. Dangerous concoction.

Spot on.

I think probably the 2nd half at Wolves in 2003.

There is just no logic to us managing to lose that 4-1. It's staggering.

Worst 45 minutes performances since Portsmouth.

However, the feeling reminds me of that Bolton game in 01/02 when we were 4-down, at home, at half time to a newly promoted, relegation favourite Bolton Wanderers. Peter Taylor lasted another 7 games .... quite frankly, he should have gone after that.

Yeah that was definitely close, and the wolves 4-3 suggested by others

This is one for me that always comes to mind. I think that was the last time I turned the tv off before a game ended

That was abject but they were at least a very good side. Bournemouth are absolutely awful. I legitimately think this is equivalent to England losing 4-1 at someone like Belarus.

Only lost 3-1 in that second half to a much better side than this Bournemouth one.

This is the first time since then I’ve personally felt gutted though. Don’t care about how good Palace were compared to Bournemouth tonight, it’s about our performance and result.

There’s no right answer to this thread.

Forget about today, I can't actually remember the last time I watched Leicester and came away thinking we played superb for 90 minutes. We either have a terrible first half or we mess up in the second. I would much rather play a few good full 90 minute games but have a couple of awful performances. Not a mix every single fecking game!

Over reaction a little? There's plenty in the title season. Swansea 4-0 jumps to mind, 3-1 against man city. Even this season Southampton 9-0 and Newcastle 5-0 must count as a complete 90mins?

Since ever for me.

Based on the perception of how we were doing in the game, the closest is the wolves games in the Adams era.

The Taylor Bolton and Sousa Pompey games were dreadful, but you knew watching these we were only in for a good spanking.

Deeney day was surreal ‐  but the game was a real contest, and only one you felt we should win when the pen was awarded.

Today feels worse because our manager changed the game for the benefit of the opposition. And I'm really surprised. Brendan has the reputation for attacking football, but that sub was all about preparing for a Bournemouth onslaught second half, at the expense of our goal threat.

I don't think I can remember another game where we've basically capitulated as much we we did today. We basically gift-wrapped them the goals. There have been lots of games where we have simply just not been the better team and I can take that to an extent. Today we just basically took a shot gun and aimed it at our own balls and then just kept pulling that trigger

Sums it up perfectly!!

Our history is littered with worst 'xx' minutes, this why I never, ever am optimistic about us. In fact it's shock if they don't disappoint. That's why winning the League was such a massive surprise and seemingly not just to us hence the 5000/1.

There's a reason were known as a yoyo team, we've well and truly earn't it.

4 losing FA Cup final is a big sign of that.

Single examples from this season, that sums it up doesn't it? I was referring to this season. We have not put a complete performance in since before Christmas. West Ham at home in January maybe and actually the Villa cup game first leg (where the finishing killed us as has done so many times this season). Other than that I am struggling to think of a good performance in 2020 (maybe Newcaslte NYD but Newcastle had 4 injuries by like the 50th minute).
