We have a winner

Ah ok, so it is true then? I didn’t know that - not lived in the city for years and don’t hear the rumours. You and the others itk should be calling it out on here more.

Imo he’s only picked for the long throw, even though he normally throws it at the head of the first opposition player. We’re so clueless how to attack Marti always picks Luke in case a throw-in creates a chance.

Just think, he could have been gone at the end of this season along with most of the other wasters. But somebody decided to extend his contract by 4 years, which must be one of the worse decisions in our club's history.

If anyone doubted that we are run by completely incompetent idiots, this is all the confirmation that you need

He’s pants. He and Silko Thomas would not stand out positively at Barwell or Anstey.

Miracle we got that fee for Kasey McAteer, too.

Thing is, silly comments like this water down the credibility of posts.

Luke is massively disappointing for us.

Silko a bit early to say.

But yeah, sure, put them in whatever league those are in and they will be out their depth…

Both would likely have decent EFL level careers if they were elsewhere. Even if that was a league or below this.

Luke’s played more than double the games Danny did and at least we didn’t offer him another 4 year deal. It’s Luke for me. Worst ever.

I'd argue had Danny Ward not been in goal the season we went down, we'd of stayed up though, he was that terrible as an individual footballer.

Agree.

Wonder what our xGA would be this season with a competent LB though.

Thomas is a friend of a friend and apparently he very much knows he's a limited footballer and that he's fortunate to have been offered that 4 year contract.

Nothing to suggest he's full of himself. He is still in touch with school mates whereas I'm sure lots of footballers sack them off when they 'make it'.  He also doesn't live a particularly flashy life despite his massive wealth. At the end of the day you can't blame him for the situation, it's our inept management.

He has had some good games but if that's his mentality then there is the problem.

Pretty sure Ben Marshall said that was half his issue, in that he was still hanging around with lads from outside of football and doing what they were doing.

I'd be worried if he was going round saying "bitches call me Maldini" though

That’s true, I know his old man 👍🏻

I mean Ben Marshall said that was his own issue, whether that's the same for Thomas I wouldn't know. But seems like it'd be very easy to hang about with old friends who don't play football and still want to live a 'normal' life doing what they do

I work with his auntie or some relation like that.. From the very limited chat we've had about him, he sounds like an extremely down to earth guy who isn't flashy with his money and if you didnt know who he was you wouldnt guess he was a footballer!

That doesn't take away from the fact he is absolute dog water though and should be nowehere near our 11. He's defo not the arsehole though that some people have suggested he is.

I agree, but that was on Roger's trying to to manage his exit strategy rather than his squad.

I’ve always said it’s his mentality that’s the problem. I still believe he has enough talent to have been successful enough at this level. This is based on what we have seen when he has had his higher points.

But he doesn’t have the mentality of someone who can perform at all consistently.

The new contract isn’t really good for him (unless it’s all about the money). He could have gone down a level and tried to reinvent himself and still had time on his side to make a decent career in the EFL.

Mate, I've shouted as loud as anyone on here since his debut that he's not up to it. And have had a couple of pleasant/respectful exchanges with his uncle who used to post here.

But it's never personal. These comments about him enjoying a beer in Syston aren't any concern of this messageboard. If anything, I think that's quite healthy. And the fact he seems to live a modest life as if he were a young electrician doing well for himself is quite endearing

He's just no good. And it seems from what you say, he knows it. The imposter syndrome must be crushing. Too many on here confuse the footballer with the person. Same goes for all these weird theories about Wout Faes' attitude and/or arrogance.

But we're on about terrible players in terms of ability, doesn't matter why they were picked
