Amazed to see some saying he played well today. I thought he was dreadful. Consistently made poor decisions in crucial areas. A really poor player.

Just slagging him off for no reason now, he’s earn it previously but was decent today

You obviously haven’t been watching us for many years then.

Nick Platnauer.

Ryan McGiven.

Alan Rogers.

You need to add Joe Mattock to that list.

Plus at least Platnauer gave us the "Ooo-aaahh Platnauer" chant

Just saying it how I saw it tbh. Thought he got into some good positions and was ok first half but a big part of our decline in the second.

Mattock started off with lots of promise, ended up being an idiot.

He was ok or at least what should be the basics in the first half.  The second half was disgusting as usual.

Hates to pass the ball forwards but was getting forwards when Faes was high up yet passed it backwards straight away.

We could’ve killed the game off if he passed the ball is head of crumpling looking for a penalty.

Thomas, Watson, Woyo and Burns is a new low.

Those who say he was decent today, are you watching a different game to all of us? Perhaps your stream isn't great

He was his usual woeful self.

By his standards he was decent today - but his standards are absolutely bottom of the pile of defenders in the football leagues!   He can’t have been too bad because he finally got a song today!!  Although I think we were singing it ironically!

He was awful.

Weak as piss defending. Hit about 10 crosses to absolutely nobody. He also went through one on one and shit himself.

Get McFarlane in. I can’t watch anymore of him .

“He was awful” “The Usual shit” “Get him Gone” …. Are quite a few phrases I’ve used over the last few years when talking about Luke But today wasn’t one of them, Anyone that can say with chest that he was “Sh*t” today isn’t being honest to themselves!

Did he score an half chance? No! (Why not?) He’s a Left Back, Did he get beaten multiple times by the opposition? No (Why not?) Because he grew some balls and added a little shithousery to today’s showing!
Did he watch as the ball rolled away for a throw in? Yes! (Why?!) because he’s Luke Thomas he’s allowed a couple of mistakes at least.

His attacking intent today was much different to years gone by, Which is something he was effective doing when he was in the u21s ect!

The challenge on him looked quite nasty from my view and he seemed to use that abuse he was getting from the Barnsley fans to spur him on

Solid 7.5/10 performance!

The problem is, even if Thomas has a decent game, it doesn’t really matter as we have seen it won’t turn around long term and he is a broken player.

He’s been involved in the 3 relegations wasn’t even around for the 1 good season in the last 4 as he was busy being part of a truly dreadful Sheffield United side then followed that up being crap at Middlesbrough. He’s broken. Physically and mentally. I don’t hate him, I just feel sorry for him. He’s the playing equivalent of Russell Martin, just not cut out for it and not a winner.

If we aren’t daft enough to give him another contract, I could genuinely see him retiring early when he leaves here. And I was one who defended him for some time after he was written off by many, and still defend that I thought his development in the early years was shocking to be fair.

He’s in the pub too often so I don’t have sympathy for him. If we got the chance to be a professional at Leicester we’d give up a hell of a lot. He’s looked just as detached as the rest of the shit heads have over the past 5 years.

Yeah fair. Remember when Chilwell looked like little boy lost in the men’s game, frightened to take a throw in at Millwall etc and went away and worked over the summer on his strength and came back looking a much different player, the one that eventually went to Chelsea and made us £45/£50 million. Could Thomas have applied himself in that way and made something of himself? Maybe yeah.

But I still think his development when we first came through was poor from the club and unfortunate timing for him when Rodgers was blowing up.

There are examples of players who had much higher ceilings and expectations at a young age than Thomas who disappeared into non-league or out of the sport completely. Sometimes it is mentality and attitude and sometimes unfortunate timing and circumstances. I’d say both apply to Thomas, more the former but not helped by the latter.

He’s done now anyway. I can’t imagine he’ll leave before 2029 unless we part ways like with Vestergaard (or the club goes into administration or liquidation before then). But I genuinely am starting to think he will just retire.

I despise our club for keeping this fraud here and giving him a new contract. I've gone from feeling sorry for him to hating the guy.

I probably criticise him more than anyone, and have done for years. However, I thought he did pretty well for us yesterday. Yes it’s usually 1 game in the odd 20 he can do so, and he’s mostly awful, but yesterday he was fine.

What? Are you on about Barnsley? Played well? Are you blind? He was dreadful for a few reasons…..

Constantly out of position, got caught numerous times having to run back to his goal.

Decided to dive instead of pass the ball ton put us 0-2 up…

Gave away countless fouls in harmful areas of the pitch.

Miss controlled more or less every pass into him.

Gave away so many passes, easy passes.

And got caught in possession countless times….

He didn’t play well at all, he can’t do the basics right.

Paul Friar, Willie Gibson.

He’s one of these weird players where I don’t really see what’s his best position? Could be a left back, CB or CM but doesn’t quite have all the attributes for any of those roles
