This is why great Test match players are the legends. You can manufacture players to whack balls for 20 overs, or bowl 4 overs of whatever. You cannot churn out players who can concentrate for hours, face long hostile spells, a dying pitch, ball changes, scoreboard pressure etc. Bowlers who can keep going in heat, with the ball and pitch doing little and manage to make something happen.

Top class stuff.

Test Cricket. Marvellous

Windies can't bat for shit though

Yep.

Aussie batting is horrendous though, we could actually have a chance in the ashes even with a poor bowling attack of our own.

I can't get over how incredibly thick vaughan is.

He's now saying hes never seen Stokes lose a tight situation, I can think of two alone as skipper.

Bloke is so up and down, just says whatever the first thing is in his head.

Khawaja, Green, Smith, Head and maybe Webster, and maybe Cummins to be their reliable batsmen.

If you have Archer, Wood, Atkinson & Carse as your attack there's gonna be some low scoring from their end.

Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins and Boland is a very fast and strong seam attack. Not sure who Aus main spinner is?

Khawaja’s eyesight has gone, Smith still decent but not what he was, Head not quite doing it either. There’s basically nobody good coming through either. Better England teams will go to Australia and be hammered and yet this one has a real chance

Atkinson, Dawson, Archer and Carse please. Then play wood instead of Archer at the oval.

Pretty much this. I'd play either Dawson or Ahmed to boost the batting. No point playing Leach as we know he doesn't threaten in Aus so see what other options we've got.

I'd be tempted to do one of Crawley or Pope for Bethell too.

This is the bloke who said Moeen Ali should do more to prevent Islamic terrorist attacks! He’s a complete clown, worst TMS pundit by a mile.

Big if but if Archer , Wood and Atkinson stay fit for the ashes that's a more than strong enough attack

If they have one fit for each game that’ll be a bonus. I reckon we’ll use 6-7 seamers at least throughout the series.

Is Ollie Stone still injured ?

Carse will de well in Oz. Hits the deck hard, runs in with purpose, he'll do well on faster, hard tracks.

Woakes won't go, Tongue will I'd imagine.
