Genuine question - why do you care if others crave awards (or whatever this)? It's not for me personally but if people give more of a shit than I ever would is there really doing any harm done?

Agree that it's a nice idea but too many people are too precious to cope with not being the centre of attention while others are congratulated, as expertly demonstrated on the previous page.

 

However.

 

I do think at least 1 FTer deserves a modicum of recognition for their tireless efforts this past year, both on and off the site.  We can all natter back and forth about the ins and outs of covid, the restrictions to combat it, and the conspiracy theories borne of it, and we can all say we're doing our own personal interpretation of what's best for us and the country, but there's only one person on here (afaik) who's been walking the walk day in, day out when it comes to actually confronting the threat.  I for one am grateful they've been using some of their precious free time to share their valuable experience and educate us about the reality on the front line, despite the frequent ignorant retorts from blokes who've breezed through the pandemic safe in the warmth of their home office.

 

It really does speak volumes about the state of our society today - and the government it begets - that, despite all this poster's done over the past couple of years, the system has left them feeling undervalued and overstretched to the point of resignation.  Well if the outer world can't make them feel appreciated, I hope we can at least give him some love on here for being the absolute champion that he is.

I don't care. I'm was just putting forward an explanation of why I feel its likely Davie G stopped doing them at all.

 

If people want their e-points, I'm quite happy to make a poll of the likely candidates so they can get the self esteem boost they obviously need from an online football forum. I'd probably get banned though, even for such an altruistic gesture.

 

Not entirely convinced they aren't all one person, anyway.
