Went to London yesterday.

Interesting looking around the Jubilee crowd.

As diverse a bunch as you're likely to see (every age, nationality, creed, sex, and anything else you can think of).

A few eccentrics ... which you would expect being a British thing ... but a really peaceful, polite, happy, jolly occasion.

Sort of really harmless fluffy patriotism ... none of the dangerous nationalistic stuff, you might get somewhere else.

The other thing that strikes you, is the difference between TV and real life.   All the fancy dress, horses, carriages, pretty colours, marching bands and the like, looks tame on TV ... but in the flesh, it's a bit lively and colourful.

(I suppose like the difference between being in a football crowd, compared to sitting at home watching it on TV.)

All good harmless fun, and free.

PS: And the fly-past was incredible.  (unless you hate planes, of course).

I’m kicking myself for not putting in more effort in going. Still, had a great time locally

Calls out a show for being racist in one thread, moments later makes an anti ginger comment in another :thumbup:lol

I didn't at all discriminate based on his gingerness. If anything you did conflating his cheesy smell and hair colour.

I’m neither a monarchist or Republican. I couldn’t give a flying toss about the royal family but overthrowing them seems like an equally ridiculous idea. For what it’s worth Prince William and Harry have done some excellent work on mental health, far better than any of our political parties ever have.

I’ll be using this bank holiday to catch up on jobs and work I’m behind with and to have a well earned rest while watching the test match.

Watching the test match won’t be good for your mental health!

the royals will become slowly less relevant as the years pass

they are constitutionally symbolic to all intents and purposes in any case.  Whilst they drive tourism and positive national income, why change It ??.

Lancaster Bomber or something very similar just went over Loughborough heading towards Coalville

Kamikaze?

Even the telegraph reporting Johnson being boo’d as well as a whole host of left wing media… He’s in more trouble than he reckons.

It was the Lancaster. Did a few low level loops over Melton as well like yesterday

I was being serious about the cheers. But I was talking about the cheers as he walked up the steps of the cathedral

Hadnt seen the Twitter clip at that point of when they got out the vehicle

The cheers were louder though I think

The crowd pretty much cheers anything that moves.

The horse poo cleaning wagon got loads of cheers yesterday!

Yet they didn't cheer Boris and Carrie, they booed.

So if the sense of ill feeling to Harry and Meghan was a big as the tabloids would have you believe, they'd have booed them too.

Also i watched plenty walk in earlier who got no reaction, so its not true they cheer everything.

They clearly were not louder unless you’re joking.

They really weren’t. The people think he’s a lying disgrace. And a few more Tory MP’s will be convinced now to write a few more letters.
