I have enjoyed watching young people reacting to the music of 60/70s on YouTube. Their  faces when discovering for the first time what has become the new classical music is wonderful

Agree. The joy when my lad demanded he sat in the front of the car and insisted we listened to his music. Fearing the worst I reluctantly agreed. The joy I felt when the opening cords to “shine on you crazy diamonds” eased out the speakers.

Some good music there, it’ll be interesting to see how many of tomorrows teenagers are seeking out todays music in 20 years time. My eldest is 16 and listening to pink floyd, Rolling Stones, rainbow, dio, Bowie. He’s found these himself, not without my prompting, I had two boxes of my brothers old vinyl in my garage that I’ve gave him and bought him a record player.

Love tea for the tillerman by the way. Great album.

I'm so glad I grew up with the music of the 60/70's......Free, Wishbone Ash, Cat Stevens, Genesis, Dire Straits, The Who...to name but a few.

You poor young bastards!!!

Loving that Kate Bush is number one download on iTunes. Seems that America has finally cottoned on.

The amount of miming going on really devalues some of this

Diana is struggling with the sound AND the outfit.

This could be as bad as the 1994 world cup opening ceremony.

Still a better penalty taker than Marcus Rashford.

It's open to debate if Jadon Sancho is a better singer though.

Diana Ross is a bit of an underwhelming finale. Would've put money on them thawing out Paul McCartney for a bit of Hey Jude

You would normally expect a real rousing finale. This is more likely to send the crowd home quietly to have their cocoa.

Autotune and miming. She is 78 though.

Shouldn't be the finale then.

Be a bit gutted if you had paid out for one of her upcoming tour dates as she clearly isn't up to singing live.

The whole Diana Ross thing was a bit random tbh. For a finale it was a bit meh. But good few hours of TV. Loved the Paddington Bear skit. Just as the James Bond one at the Olympics :)

I'd have bought out Sir Elton for a full half hour at least.

Tried to get a pre recorded banger from Phil Collins to keep Charles happy.

Then finished it off with The Rolling Stones.

Now THAT would've been a gig.
