It's May 23, 2021. All Big 6 clubs have been docked 20+ points due to the Super League greediness and Leicester have finished in the top 4 that season after winning the FA Cup at Wembley the week before. They're handed the Premier League title for the 2nd time in their history for being the highest placed team not considered the big 6. Life is good.

You said it ...’handed’. That’s the whole problem with the super league idea - I want to win a league by beating all the other teams. It’s the basis of competition

I think back in 2006 Inter were handed the Scudetto for coming 2nd because Juvie were cheaters. Would we really be handed the trophy if the other teams have points deducted though? Technically we win as 1st...

I hope they join a super league and it all collapses after 3 years and all 6 of them have to apply to  rejoin the football league at the bottom tier, just like Rangers had to in Scotland. Serves the greedy sods right.

The FA & PL won’t be handing out any sort of sanction until next season. Then all clubs will appeal etc.

That is different. Man City haven't cheated their way to this Premier League title. They've won it fair and square.

I wouldn't want us to 'win' the league like that but going forward, I'd be well happy if we had that kind of competitive title race where anyone that gets their shit together has a good chance of winning it.

 

The whole of football would be forced through a much-needed correction period first but what might emerge is a more competitive, fairer, more interesting league.

What about spending 1.5b, paying 50m for breaking play fair rules and other fines for financial issues?

That's a different argument. But by the same argument we shouldn't be in the Premier League for flaunting financial fair play in the Championship.

It is all a matter of scale, maybe be so but we were not trying to follow the money

If this happened, and it won’t, but if it did, I wouldn’t be celebrating. It wouldn’t be like 15/16. But it would be great for the club to have that extra revenue, and a first seed pot in to the UCL. It could be the big financial boost that we need to solidify our place as a proper top 4 team, which is ironically what the so called big 6 are trying to stop from happening.

If extreme action is taken then our last game of the season could be Newcastle at home on 8th May. Doubt it would come to that though.
