The big six will have the pick of all the players in the other 14 as they will have to sell ...... that suppresses fees and we are going to be left with players on big deals that we can’t afford. Because we have a few players that would still fetch a decent price we may be ok but quite a few prem clubs would not. It would be a sh1tshow ....

I don't know.

First, there's the question of when the game acts, and how aggressively. Have these clubs irreversibly broken rules by signing up to something without permission? Might some of the more reticent clubs have been taken aback by the reaction, and the severity of the possible consequences? Could there yet be a dialogue and, if so, have the 6 strengthened or weakened their hand?

Beyond that, is there a chance of government(s) working with the game to allow there to be a new 'Manchester', a 'Liverpool', a 'Tottenham', a 'Chelsea' at the top level of our game? Could those names really be stripped from the outgoing clubs and handed to new clubs serving the same catchment area? Might this also be a very attractive prospect for investors? Also, the permissions granted for clubs to stage weekly major events, the possibility of 'listing' clubs as national institutions, and restrictions on bringing foreign players into the English game for SL clubs could yet throw spanners into the works.

On the other hand, can we really, practicably deprive players of international careers, or stop transfers between SL and EPL clubs? Will all 14 sign up to these new rules?

While we're at it, will all 14 really vote to expel the SL clubs? And if they did 'stay on' in some form, how would that work? Will the 14 buckle? No, they won't want to devalue their competitions, but equally I can't see them being willing to compete against SL clubs at EPL level who have added an extra few hundred million to their budgets. There might be calls for an earnings cap among declared EPL squads. After all, what those SL clubs have just done to us, could one day be done all over again by different clubs. To our expense, and the SL's. Nobody's going to want that.

And what about Scotland? There are a couple of major international brands up there. It leaves the possibility of a temporary reduction of the EPL to 14 teams, with a reduced calendar for one year, and then the prospect of a play-off competition at its end to determine where new clubs are integrated. E.g. The bottom 2 of the EPL, the whole SPL, the new 'Manchester', 'Liverpool' etc. clubs, and the top FLC teams fighting it out for 8 spots in the restructured EPL; with corresponding competitions to integrate teams at second / third / fourth / fifth tier level.

It sounds complex, but this is pretty damn complex. My head aches at the sheer chaos of it all.

We've not earnt it this season, so I wouldn't count it but it is the right thing to do if these clubs want to break away. All their titles should be stripped and they should be relegated to the conference if they refuse to not leave this idea or banned completely.

The teams above us haven't earned it either. They've brought the entire game to its knees in the greatest act of treachery, greed and disrepute in its history. And when you see the contempt they've shown in cheating the game and its followers, it tells me that this isn't something new. They've got their way for years. Need a stadium for a year or two? Have the national one. Cheated and got banned from major competitions? Oh, okay, never mind. FA Cup a pain in the arse? Drop out for a year. Rules aren't working for you? We'll change them. Still too fair for your liking? Here, have FFP.

All of this is cheating. If they were stripped of the title, Leicester or West Ham would be worthy winners in the same way that other sides punished for cheating in the past have been unworthy, and rightly denied.

Not arsed if I’m being completely honest.

Champions *

And that’s what it would go down as. It would be hilarious if it were to happen but not something we should take very seriously as fans, and after Brendan’s speech about wanting to act like winners last week, not something I think the players would take very seriously either, especially the ones who have actually won it, fair and square.

Man City buying the league for years is more hollow I'd say, this would be great.

Narh. If we won the league because a team above us had cheated, really cheated, then OK. Let's say Man City and United were involved in a match fixing scandal or had grossly overspent above an agreed spending limit I'd celebrate a title win as justice.

This definitely wouldn't be great. It would be great to see them punished but it wouldn't be anything for us to celebrate as a trophy.

Mad that we can have this conversation having actually experienced the pure ecstasy of winning it proper by the way. Some season that, unbelievable memories.

I'd rather we didnt win anything by default, but I wouldn't want these teams to be taking any silverware.. nothing against the fans, but these "owners" don't deserve any trophies or money.

I think being handed the title would undermine a good season. We've earned where we are. Cup final and on course for a top 4 finish. Being handed the title would undo all of that and the club wouldn't get the credit they deserve. All people would see is a title win that was handed to us.

It would be likely that we would be given the fa cup too so would get the double.

It would be brilliant and the name of Leicester City would for ever be remembered as the team that won the double due to 6 teams being greedy bastards and got rightly punished for it.

Could we melt it down into six brick size middle fingers and throw them through the windows of every big six club? If so, yes I want it.

Pretty thrilled if the bookies honoured my wager on us winning it 😉

Surely they have to. Don't think they'll mind anyway. Will make a fortune from the 1000 s staked on Man City and Liverpool. Millions?

I feel it would be hollow. Even though the clubs themselves can effectively eff right off, I'm sure the players from Man City (who were brilliant this season) and United (especially the kids who have played their hearts out) really don't want any part of this. It would be tantamount to us being handed something for lack of effort, which is what this argument is all about it. We would then be just as bad as them. Let's earn whatever we receive and hold our heads up with pride.

Mixed emotions. Would certainly be delighted and thrilled. However I couldn't ignore the circumstances which led to it. Rather win it through our own efforts than by the punishment of a bunch of arrogant obnoxious clubs.
