I'm trying to be fair here in that i have zero doubts that Rodgers devotes his life to the complexities and detail of tactics, set up, coaching and Man management  And has done so for nigh on 20 years

Which makes some of the decisions totally baffling. Beyond baffling. Of all the scores of examples where we could pick holes, I'll choose one.

How can you set the team up exactly the same away to arsenal as we did home to Brentford? It's totally, utterly inexplicable. 2 different opponents with 22 diffetent personnel who employ entitetly different tactics ....and added to all that, 2 different outcomes required (win all Brentford and a point at arsenal)

How can such a professor of football  just mundanely set the team up the same?

The major issue now is basic professionalism. The constant references to his squad's shortcomings, as opposed to their credentials, are clearly damaging. The last time I remember a manager's professionalism being questioned when under pressure, to the extent that people seriously wondered whether he was working for us or against us, was when the shots of Little laughing were screened in late 1994, during his final game. I had my doubts as to how significant that incident was, but I'd be really naive if I thought that Rodgers wasn't trying to protect his own brand at the expense of ours.

I can honestly say that if, during my days as a company director, any one of my management team had talked of any members of his or our staff in this way, I would certainly have suspended him.

Had some fans of other clubs message me how the hell is Rodgers not sacked yet, so even others find this weird.

Did Scott Parker message You as well ?

Well at least he gets it, he is right, if they cant afford to sack him, how can they afford to keep us afloat after relegation?

I am starting to think there's something in the idea that he knows he has peaked here, is not excited by the job any more, where really we're looking at top 10 as a realistic aim going forward, and wants the sack, pay off, a break and chance for a new 'project' (cvnt)

I was alarmed when he said a refresh was needed before anything needed to be said. He was declaring the side that finished 8th was not good enough. Circumstances stopped wholesale changes but the players left have been basically criticised in public.

Why would they wait until Monday if they’re going to do it? I seem to recall plenty of managers getting the boot on a Sunday, if they’re religious…

BR got sacked by Liverpool on Sunday, the 4th day of the month (of October 2015). Today is also Sunday, the 4th day of the month!

I'm firmly in the out camp now but not sure why some people are keen to plant his name in the same arena as Peter Taylor? His time here is coming to an end, the longer it goes on the more painful it will probably be, but he has done a bloody decent job here. You can't deny that?

I'm sure Stan will cover it better when he makes his "Thank You Brendan" thread once he's gone

There is a lot of bitterness, whereas I think you’re right it’s a more a case of his cycle is done here - well and truly. He’s not lasted this long in any other job, probably for a reason. He’s very good at improving what he comes into, and perhaps also when tweaking. But when he has to transition in 3-4 years and make his own side he’s consistently been poor.

To be fair the prospect of this bugger in charge when we could have Pearson makes me sick. But, anything for a strong character with man management!!

Apart from 6 months of good football and a FA cup we've had 0 good signings and Claude Puel in disguise.

At least Puel made good signings

Who is a professor of football? I can find at least a dozen of members here that have more tactical knowledge of football than Rodgers.

Official account hasn't tweeted anything since the final whistle, apart from thanking the travelling fans. Usually they'd be pumping out all sorts post-match. Sign that an announcement is coming? 🤔

I genuinely don't think Pearson would come back to us right now. Seems like he is enjoying Bristol City life. Dyche is available tonight if needed!
