Let's not forget that the care home staff are the ones that care for him round the clock - they know better than all of us what he needs. This kind of story is obviously sad to see as a fan, but let's not rush to paint the carers as villains here.

Sadly he must have really deteriorated over the last few years, never known a man to cover so many miles on foot in the past as he'd seem to pop up everywhere in and around games.

Given the thread title, maybe the massed Foxes Talk choir should release a cover version of "Ossie's dream"........ "Bernie's dream".

I'm sure Bernie could replace Ossie Ardiles' "in the cup for Tottingham" solo....maybe commenting on Derby County or something?

Have we released a Cup Final song? We should do.....traditional, innit?

A man that should be going, been going years

There is a Facebook group that the guy who got him a ticket set up and regularly posts videos.

For me he doesn’t look like he could manage the time on the bus and then the game let alone fully enjoy it so probably the right decision.

Pretty sad still though bless him.

I think this is the nail on the head sadly, a lot of would have seen similar deterioration in some of the eldery we've know over a short space of time.

He saw our title win and no one can take that away from him.

If it's not safe enough then he shouldn't.

Sorry to be a ****. But don't buy this he walked everywhere. He was regularly on the train via syston for home games.

And there was once a programme article or something on him where they claimed he'd walked to Sheffield or something during the week. Bloke was stood next to us on the train to the game lol

But I do agree it's sad after all the games he's been to he's going to miss this.

I used to see him walking towards  the train station after games and he was often detouring for all sorts of reasons.

I would have loved to have got a pedometer on his wrist to prove you wrong.

I'm on about the way to games. There's actually some really good articles on him in older programmes before he became ill you wouldn't recognise him when he was in his 20s/30s But there's no way he's walked as far as he says.

Just a fact. I wish him no ill and he looks much healthier in the last 2 or 3 years than he has for 20 years previous.

I used to sit on the same bus as him, Quorn to Loughborough, back in the late 90s. He was always recognisable as he was always decked out in full LCFC clobber. I didn't realise quite what a local legend he was at the time!
