Next Captain + Vice-Captain

Kasper easily takes over the captaincy for me, he’s been a great leader this season. We’ve got plenty of others in reserve as well that could easily fill the vice captaincy - Evans, Vardy, Youri etc however I was thinking left field and perhaps the answer is Maddison as vice.

 

Hes obviously got a lot of football passion, speaks well about the game - and I wonder if this could really help focus all his energy and performances in a 100% positive way after the odd party this season which threw him off course. A bit punty I know but it’s potentially a situation where it would lift Madders into fully becoming the player/leader he wants.

I really don't think sadly that giving someone a captain's armband is remotely likely to keep someone at a football club. Somehow I think bigger team, more money and the chance of playing regularly at a top level may just trump that somewhat. I do think that he's really happy here but he has quite understandably hasn't got any particular allegiance to us I would think.

....I have said it before, I believe that he sees this club as the perfect place to be in his career!!!

Could be pretty naïve but I just do not get the feeling that he is willing to walk away from us.

Because Brendan has specifically mentioned that the club will now have to look at who becomes Captain and Vice-Captain.

 

Yes it may already be a foregone conclusion that Kasper gets it, but it is interesting to see what other people think about who should take the captain role ahead of Kasper. Also who should take the vice-captaincy.

Which Leads to that player, being also the right fit & potential to be future Club captain...

Tends to go with seniority of time at the club so it’ll be Vardy as Vice and Kasper main.

Making someone captain or vice captain will have no impact on them staying at the club I’m afraid. Unless it comes with a £200k a week bonus.

The role of Captain itself is nothing more than symbolism.

 

Leaders will be leaders with or without the official role of captain.

We need a captain outfield. No disrespect to Kasper but he's removed from the action. Not as much as I'd like the action to be removed though.

I always wondered what all the fuss is about. Cricket and rugby captains have actual jobs to do on the pitch. Wether it's organizing the rest of the team or consulting with the referee. In football it seems mainly symbolic.

 

They get a coin toss and an armband in football but does it really matter who is wearing it. It won't change who acts as leaders on the pitch
