I've scored more headers with TOTS Balotelli in the 2 weeks I've had him than I'd scored total headers since the game came out.

If you have any french bronze players a lot are selling for around 2 k as well as managers if you have a load in your club.

So this passing malarchy, I know some have mentioned an update that screwed up the passing but I am trying to work out if there is some user error that can be fixed. For example, I just finished a match where my players passing was suddenly way off. I had many instances where there was a gap between their players that you could land a jet in, my player stood through that gap, about equal distance between the players. I pushed straight up on my controller in my team mates direction, pressed the pass button and the player passed it direct to their player that was at a diagonal right position from me. Not where I was pushing and obviously not what I wanted my player to do.

 

Was this my error and if so, how do I fix it so I don’t do it again as it is really regular.

Doesn’t matter. I had a try and it was the right one. Unfortunately whilst trying to remember to do this I was not having time to get the ball away and was 3-0 down in 8 mins on football champ. I just have to accept the bad passing as I am too old to be able to use every finger on every button and in different combinations. The brain isn’t that quick. Once upon a time this game was a lot simpler and less frustrating.

Hi Guys,

 

Which button do you hold, along with shoot, to place a shot in the corner. I have been running in on the angle and tried with the r and l bumper buttons on PS and it just goes to the keeper. I tried to Google this but all the answers were people wanting me to watch their 10 minute videos. Damn we live in a world in desperate need for attention. Lol.

 

Anyway, if anyone has that short answer I would appreciate it.

Hold R1 when your shoot for Finesse shot. All depends on your angle and stuff, sometimes not using the finesse will allow a better strike if your looking for a powerful one across goal or something.

 

Hold L1 for chip shot.

Sorry for all the questions but so haven’t played FIFA since about 5 years and they have made it difficult to simply play.

 

So the next question I have is how do I set my AI players to defend. As in to actually move towards wingers running down and not just turn their heads and watch them go. It used to be a button that would make the AI players move in and oppose the opponents but can’t seem to work it out and all the opponent needs to do is a circle and they are around the back of my player who now has no chance of getting anywhere close.

You hold a button, which I think is R1, and it brings in a second defender. If its not R1, hopefully someone can correct.

 

You also have to switch defenders to move them around but other than that, you have to rely Upon the AI to do its thing and help you a bit.

 

Defending takes practice, things like making sure you jokey defenders to slow down their attack and allow your other defenders / midfielders time to adjust.

 

Its just practice, defending is certainly my achilies heal.

Since I have had potm de gea I haven’t used anything else and he has been unreal to be fair and has had to be as I am shocking at defending 😂 I know you can’t buy him so it’s not really helpful sorry 😂

I did actually have him but put him in an SBC and thought the grass was greener eventually getting Alisson.

 

To be fair, in hindsight,  De Gea was much better than Alisson and Donnurrumummumumma .

Once I get a keeper that work I don’t change them even if I get someone who should be better. I think last years game I used ederson pretty much the whole time.

I just remembered that I did buy Fifa 20 and I kept it about a week and I think the same is going to happen to this.

 

I just played a game where I had one shot in the 89th minute. Reason for this is I couldn’t get out of my own half. My players were passing sluggish and slow balls so when the receiver got it, all he could do was play ab equally sluggish ball elsewhere. The players won’t move around and so I just kept passing across my defence as there was nowhere else to go.

 

For anyone who has ever played football in life or been a human being then I am not asking my players to do something incredible. Just move into space and kick it like you have feet and no lt fins.

 

Only a week of this game and I never finish a game thinking I enjoyed myself there. Always think, why can’t I control the players? Why won’t they do what I ask?

 

Got to say, shame for anyone who is too young to remember it, but nothing beats Fifa 99!

Really like Tots Lloris and Tots Lafont along with Prime Van Der Saar, they’re my go to keepers at the minute, I’ve literally got every tots keeper from the main leagues and I’d say they’re the pick of them, I’m with you re Alisson though hate facing him but for me he’s absolutely woeful

Just got back to Div1 on my 90th Rivals match of Season 6. I'll take it as a tiny win!

 

Looking forward to packing absolutely nothing of value (yes, I know they're untradeable) from the rewards as has been my pack luck for the whole of TOTS (and before actually!).

I am currently sitting in Div 2 but have equally as much luck with regards to pack opening.

 

I see other posts, and things on YouTube and I'm sure they must have a different copy of the game to me.

 

I mean, there must be thousands of player possibilities in FUT.....how do I get the same players every time!!

 

To be fair, I did get a Prime Icon Cruyff the other day but other than that, I never seem to get anyone of any value or quality.

 

My last reward contained two separated TOTS loans.....got the same GK (who I've never heard of) in both packs!!!

I think I have sussed it. A thing called two button mode. I discovered this when I googled how to cross so it doesn’t go to an opponent and apparently I have to hold R3 down at the same time as the cross. Why have a cross button if it doesn’t work alone. I don’t want to have to get a degree to play a game so two button mode makes it much more fun. I pass, I cross, I shoot, I tackle. I won headers in the area from crosses, I did cross field passes with the pace I wanted. Attacking and moving are so much more fun. Simplistic and fun.

 

I haven’t worked out the defending though. 

I can’t seem to stop it from changing players non stop, very confusing, can’t get my keeper to come out to meet an attacker but worst of all, I can’t jump for defensive headers. 
 

I feel I am halfway there to liking a football game again.

 

Does anyone know the answer to these defensive issues?
