We were the better team and playing some really good football. The Fofana injury has cast a shadow over it unfortunately.

 

I've watched the challenge a few times and it's brutal, that should NEVER happen in a friendly. Hope he can recover soon but already feels like a major setback this season.

Shawcross' foul against Arsenal was enough to spawn a whole rivalry and this feels similar.

Not even a mention of the injury, let alone any condolences or well-wishes from Villareal. Understandable that they wouldn't throw their own player under the bus, but to not even give it a mention in their match report is shockingly poor from them. 

All of their actions have been disgraceful. 

 

The player, the manager, the picture the Twitter admin used for the first goal, and then the second (deleted), nothing after the game. Nothing in the link you give. 

 

The English account for Villarreal did put a tweet out but that's it.

I had absolutely no idea what happened with their second goal until watching the replay this morning.

 

The ball wasn't actually moving and the free kick was taken behind where the foul was committed, not infront.

 

As much as I hate to admit it, due to their vile sportsmanship, it was actually a very clever and well taken goal which completely caught us sleeping.

You could tell he was fuming from the shots of him on the touchline post-injury. I wonder whether he needed to go off and have a rage behind closed doors rather than talk to Stringer et al. 

 

I doubt he'll react to Villarreal at all publicly. The guy's a class act. I rather hope we get them in the Europa League and give them a thorough humiliation. BR would rather we did the talking on the pitch, and I prefer it that way.

RL tweeted that he's not speaking to the media until the Community Shield press conference today, which is at 3 for some reason.

He seems very involved and I would not be surprised if Rodgers has brought him in to help with the game management and to be one of his eventual coaching team. That goal by Caglar was something we have not been able to put into practice and it was a glorious goal. We just needed someone who can organise a set up and I noticed when Maddison first came to the club we were inventive in deadball situations but that went eventually.

  He is no Evans and sometimes seems clumsy in his defending but he gives us a lot more with his presence on the pitch and I will take that at the moment.

Was a fan of Villarreal until last night,  admired them a small town team centre of the community. no more, I hope they get relegated now. As for the spiteful Fer Niño well let's just say let's hope some bad karma bites him sooner rather than later.

Hes a demon, absolutely terrible tackle and 0 remorse. Don't understand how people like that can be players. Vile character. And it wasn't even a mistake it was on purpose.

Yeah, can't argue with this. Clearly has anger issues and a bad temper. That won't change while Villarreal don't take it seriously. Gotta hope next time he tries this he's the one whose leg gets busted up rather than his victim.
