Apparently “honking” from reading a few Twitter posts from Dundee fans. Think he can make it at this level if he can’t at standard equivalent to probably league 1 here? Time will tell

But then some of them were saying that he looked absolute quality? What I had read a while back was that they needed extra physicality and on top of that, the spot he could go for was taken by Sylla who's their best player

Braybrooke like Alves is 20 and has time on his side.

Hope the two of them and Nelson have a big part to play in our future.

Erm... No he isn't.

Alves is 19.

Big window for him now, he will be needed next year so getting a good loan is imperative.

Mid table league 1 or top league 2 clubs to guarantee minutes for me! I don’t think a relegation scrap in league 1 is the most nurturing experience.

league 2 didn’t harm Nelson

Didn't he get a season ending injury?

ACL.

Watched him in the Youth Cup at Old Trafford, along with Garnacho he was the standout, ran the midfield for us.

Maybe they just brought him back after reading the Winks thread to tell him that if the good folk on FT say Winks isn't built to play in that position then Sammy you being of slighter build won't make it either & you should look to become a jockey instead :dunno:

Aaah so it turns out he can't go on loan again this season as the U21 Papa John's Trophy game he played for us in August counts as an official game which means he's played for 2 clubs already this season.

Shocking state of affairs, but let's hope Ruud likes what he see's. With Hamza likely off, Skipp not doing well currently and Wilf injured, he's not a million miles away.

Typical from the club. Their management of the careers of young players is generally very poor.

Lets be real he is a million miles away. He's just been sent back from Dundee for not being good enough.

I would imagine that because he's missed a year of his development he would be much better off playing each week at Seagrave than he would being sat on the bench up north.

Most Dundee fans reacting on twitter were positive, felt he wasn't given much of a chance.

This two team rule is ridiculous.

Surely wouldn't of been recalled if he wasn't get a chance here?

He went on loan and it didn't work out, this happens.

I don’t think that’s in question. What’s pissing annoying is the organisation whereby he’s played in a poxy EFL Trophy game and therefore he can’t go out on loan again.

Stranger things have happened. McAteer was barely playing League Two and then Enzo used him in the Championship right from the off.

I don't think the loan worked out, I mean that's obvious, he's hundreds of miles from home as well. I'd rather he got another loan but seeing out the season back here and a more appropriate loan next season would be best.

Does that sit with Academy manager?

Scottish football probably wasn’t the best fit for him.

Hard for a cultured midfielder to do much when the ball just goes from back to front all game.

Maddison still looked good at Aberdeen

As bad as it is that he can't play for another club, they had no idea it wouldn't work out well at Dundee. They could sign him on loan again lol

But hard to blame the club on this one?

Given Dundee’s use of loan players, I think the conservative approach by LCFC might have been wise. They’ve had some great successes on loan but they also loaned about 8 players last season and some of them barely played.

But he had the benefit of a full pre-season (during which he impressed).

Obviously anything is possible but I'd be amazed if he gets game time for the first team here.
