IF someone is shit, I don’t see why you shouldn’t let them know.

Because they play for a team you support, which means you want them to do well, and you know (because it’s obvious) that telling them they’re shit isn’t going to help them do better. If anything it might make them play worse, and no fan of a team would do anything that might have that effect.

Whilst I understand the sentiment, they're sportsmen, being told they're shit or can't do something should spur them on, give them ammunition to prove people wrong, i'm not saying it's right or that people should be doing it but I would like to think their mindset is stronger and they have that mentality, I doubt they really give a ****.

Like when the opposition slag Vardy off, he thrives of it because he wants to prove them wrong, get one back at them.

I just find this forum strange, booing/whistling  at football has been happening for god knows how long. People Booing Burnley for time wasting and people on here are questioning why people boo ? I mean it makes me think alot of people have jumped on a band wagon probably use to to go down welford road before 2016.

Sheff United 1996 at home some of you on here would had needed therapy after that game.

I was at that game too, the same dickheads ended up with egg on their faces for the next 4 years.

O’neill even said he never forgot that day.

No that’s just being a blind sheep.

Constant unquestionable praise does not make you a supporter.

I could agree with this years ago, you’re there to “support”, but that isn’t how things are anymore. People pay a lot of their money to go and be entertained. By someone who gets paid a lot more then they do. Nobody deserves unconditional support. They aren’t your children.

In fact to add to that I’d dare to say people are probably harder on their kids than they are the players of their team.

Yeah but that’s my point, it’s not some new thing. Don’t get why people are acting shocked. Plenty of Leicester players/managers have been booed before. Then the people going on about how they find booing in general embarrassing. Have they only just started watching football of any kind ?

Your example was 25 years ago, I’d imagine a lot of fans commenting were not born then. I’d say it is a bit shocking given the recent success, given that its 5 games into a new season and that it really isn’t that fùcking bad.
Can you seriously not understand that the fans creating a toxic environment, could be viewed negatively by those wishing to get behind the team? It’s completely unnecessary and not in the slightest bit useful.

There was plenty of booing towards the end of puels time at the club. It was absolutely toxic in the ground the game before he was sacked.

I don’t recall everyone taking the moral high ground then ?

I can’t speak for anyone else but my stance is completely consistent.

Fair enough. I’m a supporter. You’re not. You’re an entitled customer. That explains our different attitude to booing, I suppose.

Please stop paying and let someone rational and with a brain take your place. It’s sounds like the best all round solution.

Yes. The opposition. There is a difference between having a go at the other team (especially at someone like Vardy who seems to love it) and booing your own team!

For some it might. For some it might push them into their shell. For some it might destroy their confidence. For some it might make them think ‘you fans are a pack of w**k*rs why should I bust a gut for you?’

Telling people they’re shit is rarely a constructive way of facilitating improvement.

I booed Looman coming off.

I also booed Maddison because he's been sh*t.

I pay enough money and I can freely express my opinion. Cheers.

How old are you? Genuine question as I am doing some research atm and looking at people booing their own team in correlation with their age.

Playing at this level comes with a price.

You're playing in front of 30 thousand fans week in week out.

You lot saying how we shouldn't treat players like that doing their job is the biggest load of nonsense I've ever heard.

If you have ever

 - Joined in saying 'you don't know what you're doing' / the referee is a wancer to the referee then you're out of order.

- Ever sang a song about another teams player, for example 'Leicester reject' at Harry Kane.

They're just doing their jobs so why slag them off?

You are comparing booing your own players with slagging off the refs who give bad decisions against the team you support?

Tbf I’m not with the booing crowd and yesterday we needed to win so I don’t think the booing was helpful. I booed the ref yday , Pope and Cornet. All football fans do it though, we’re not a special bunch. I don’t agree yesterday with booing Maddison on the pitch however I still feel it was aimed at Rodgers taking of lookman. At the same time I’m not defending players such as Maddison and Perez because I watch them every week and I understand why people get angry with their performances.

You’re and absolute clown, the worst kind of fan we have. I hope you never come back to the KP with that shit attitude.

You don’t know anything about me so you can’t really make that judgement can you.

For one I’ve never booed anyone apart from sarcastically booing Steve Howard’s name once to my Dad as the team sheet was read out. Didn’t like it, didn’t feel right and was always 100% behind every player on the pitch.

All I’m saying is, if some people have had enough and want to air their frustrations then let them. If it was happening every week were I’d say it’s something to worry about but a bit of grief once in a blue moon can’t really hurt anyone.

I’m sure the majority are positive in their support anyway.

Good I’m glad you agree.

Also all fans moan about it on a football forum, we’re not that special in that department either 👍🏻
