As I understand it, yes. Irrespective of whether we register him in the squad of 25, we can only have 2 loan players from other PL clubs.

 

IIRC, we can have another 4 loan players from abroad, but we'd need to make space in the 25 - unless they're aged 21 or under, in which case they don't need registering.

I find the wording of that a little ambiguous.  It means you can have 4 premier league loans in a season.  But only 2 registered at a time.  But I'm unsure if that's squad registered or there's a loan register. As that'd mean two different potential outcomes.  Squad reg would mean we could get someone in to replace French Ed and not register him in the squad.  If there's a loan register then yeah, fxxked it. Anyone know?

The point being that we can 'make space' in the 25 by simply leaving another player out of it. We don't necessarily have to sell or loan them to anybody.

Aye, the wording is as clear as mud.

 

Can't imagine the Premier League ever having their rules worded in such a way that could be left open to interpretation, hey?! :D

Indeed. **** it - let's just loan in seven players and get Nick De Marco to iron out the details with the PL...

I think what was posted relates to premier league to premier league loan. We could loan 2 till January send them back and loan 2 more.

 

Loans outside premier league are in addition. Seem to remember forest having a load on loan when we went down 

 

Just checked - they had Navas, Henderson, Bade, Wood and Lodi on loan. Bade went back at end of Dec which would tie in

Yeah it is Prem/English based, but it's more the use of the word register that's the unclear bit.  As in we can't send Ed back, but we can also choose not to register him in the squad. So is that loan space then free or is the term register in this instance nothing to do with squad registration and there's a separate loan register?
