Safe to say, he fits into our worst ever / wasted money XI with the likes of Slimani, Silva, Musa and Casino Jimmy.

....I would not put him in that category!!!

If we had put him in straight into our first team, he would probably be playing as a major part of our backline right now!!!

Sending him to Celtic was not a poor move, it gave him game time and allowed us to continue to use a very sound CB pairing with an understudy available. His injury at Celtic has totally wrecked his career, he has never got over it, and I suspect he never will.

He was a quality player when he arrived, the scouts did their job and found two exceptionally good CBs, he just has not recovered from the injury, mentally or physically.

You're right - he's worst than Slimani, Silva and Musa.

12 Million. No PL appearances. Says it all.

To be fair I’m not sure we should be allowed to do this if we’re struggling to get 13 fit players and he’s a registered player? lol

Since when did Adrian Durham approve transfers?

Am sure the club are trying to get one in to replace him or they'll just move mendy back into the squad.

Why was he in the squad ahead of anyone? Rogers was obviously never going to play him, I'd wager he'd rather play the under 14s girls goalkeeper at cb than benkovic. Very odd situation, has been for years glad he's going for everyone involved.

It's a valid point. If we preferred Ndidi and Hamza at CB then surely naming Mendy in the squad to cover them makes more sense.

Promising; finished product; over the hill stop-gap?

I don't know who it is, just that we will try everything possible to get someone in. My fear is though, our recruitment in the last 2 January windows has been honking under Rodgers so I'm nervous.

Are we getting any money for Him?

Apparently we're getting a 7 figure loan fee. No clue how we managed that if it's true.

If I had to guess. I'd say "**** no!"

In all seriousness, it wouldn't surprise me if we are continuing to pay all/some of his wages so he gets a free hit to try and start over.

Frees up a space for us and increases the urgency to recruit. (But Choudhury at CB 😍, I wanna see more)

It often gets taken off the final fee if they agree to sign him permanently

Good riddance if so. He obviously wasn't ever going to have a career with us after the recent comments by Brendo how he's unavailable through personal reasons.

So they loan him for a million then when they find out more about him we pay them £999,999 back to make it permanent?

Probably just an accounting thing as we are probably still paying his wages

Been moaning on twitter about the lad we loaned to Barrow.
