I dread to think what would’ve happened if we played Legia Warsaw first.

Their response vs Napoli was pathetic and if they were that naive against the co-ordinated stuff, hundreds would’ve got a kicking

They got caught out against Napoli where they didn’t expect the ultras to travel and have made all the European games since high risk

It's like the people making these decisions don't actually understand the context of any decisions they make, shocking I know.

Leicestershire Police had a rocket up their arse I reckon, in response to the various incidents in European games and other recent stuff such as Forest away.

It was the same against West Ham last weekend. They had the police horses charge through the crowds along Filbert Way on Sunday night due to two blokes having a scuffle, well OTT.

We had the Met helping out too which probably didn't help matters.

They only do it against teams who they know won't cause any trouble, any decent team that comes with ultras or a good mob of lads they'll do piss all, or end up getting battered (as seen vs. Napoli & Warsaw). You bet your arse if we get Roma or some Serbian nutters at some point they'll put about 10 coppers on shift and get their arse handed to them, again.

Does it really matter.......

I suppose something else to moan about and takes the pressure of the goal music, families, injuries and BR I suppose.

True, does not spoil my night at the game. But it does matter to me because it is our money that pays for all this, cannot imagine the bobbies accept £5.98 an hour overtime. So many noses in the public trough, and it's very frustrating, i need my nose in the public trough as a side gig and all will be forgiven.

I posted it because I think it does matter. I'm no particularly anti police person but firstly it shows total incompetence in being able to assess the risks within a situation; secondly, although always moaning about cutbacks etc, they can spend probably hundreds of thousands of pounds and commit 100 (?) police, many of whom were specially trained, to police an obvious non-event....of course they can do this with accountability. They would probably congratulate themselves that subsequent to these measures there was no trouble.

Added to that the horses got to bed late and are probably feeling rough today.

Exactly, i am sure they make all these overkill rules when the superintendent has a particularly large credit card bill that month and needs the overtime to plug a hole

"The horses got to bed late and are probably feeling rough today" is one of the best things I've ever read on here 🤣

No chance it cost 100 of thousands of pounds, even if you were paying a 100 of them £40 a hour for 5 hours its only £25k.

After the Napoli fiasco, having a dry run, in preparation for bigger games if we get further and get the likes of PSV, Roma or Feyenoord isn't a bad idea.

it would have been a full shifts pay for all of them....they aren't going somewhere else for an extra 3 hours especially the 'riot squad' who maybe have come from London...then the cost of the mounted police...no idea how much that would be. When I walked past the numerous vans on Raw Dykes St after the game the police were sat behind the tinted glass eating their sandwiches; great use of police resources. When you work out the cost of deploying staff you can double it for additional overhead.

Whether is £100K or £200K the point remains.

The idea this is a dry run for Roma or Feyenoord by facing up to the Randers fans I dont agree with.

I actually think the lack of policing of Napoli/Warsaw has annoyed many and seeing them take the piss a bit. I think will now see if those teams fans come to Leicester they will now be met with proper opposition. I was surprised at the size of the 'firm' at Forest in the town centre. OK chucking plastic seats at a beefeater against Forest who we haven't played  for years but there were over a 100 of them.....

Aren’t you bitching as well?

I take your point, but just giving you my point of view. It’s a pathetic thread. Why can’t we just celebrate a win?

Its not got anything to do with the result. Its a comment on the policing arrangements at the game.

To be fair if you dont go to that side of the ground you might not be aware but to those who do....

Plenty of history with West Ham tbf to justify the presence

They were kicking off all over the place the day of the helicopter tragedy

Good to see the dozen police horses, 50 tactical support unit offices with batons/shields etc and numerous other police there to ensure order. You could tell looking at the Randers fans that they were pretty hard core particularly the wives and children of the predominantly middle aged men.

Someone more cynical than myself might say that this was a massive waste of police resources and just to prove a point following the Forest match and the Napoli, Warsaw games. But it can't be as I thought they keep saying the police are overstretched?

Bit over the top policing with loads of Danish OAP’s gingerly walking into the ground, thought their fans looked at the police Escort after the game and thought WTF !!

No, horses are hardcore, take a late night out no problem.

The dogs however can’t, and they’ll be feeling very woof.
