Roma away (Travel Plans) 5th May

Recommended Posts

Staying in Vatican area, bit the bullet and booked for 2 nights rather than go and sit outside the airport for hours.

Can't imagine getting through security will be an issue at that time so will look to get there an hour before the flight

Organised shuttle buses to the stadium - I’m having PTSD flashbacks to Napoli

:revenge:

Are these likely to be mandated in similar fashion to those at Napoli or will these be optional this time ?

Taxis are only €15 from Termini to the stadium

It’s just getting back that’ll be the issue if opting for a taxi

The closest metro stop is Ottaviano which is then a good 35min walk to the stadium according to Google maps

Absolutely none of it is ideal 😂

Tbf Liverpool fans suggest it was far better organised than any Napoli shuttle.

As a neutral I did the tram and you have to cross that notorious bridge. It’s on the Curva Sud side so Roma’s ultras end. Suspect on the buses we’ll come from the North side to avoid it.

On a lighter note, anyone into Tennis, the Italian Open is on next door all week

There is no doubt that the big issue with this trip is getting dropped off somewhere at about 2 in the morning with no idea where your hotel is, public transport finished & walking definitely not an option. Does anyone know if taxis will still be available at that time or will they have gone to bed as well. If no taxis what is the solution?

Yep. That’s why I dodged the 7am flight back on Friday even if it was about €50 cheaper. Will be awful

Looks like Uber is available and also an app called FREE NOW which allows you to call street taxis. Worth downloading before traveling perhaps.
