LVFox Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 Sunak is no doubt an intelligent guy, but he just doesn't grasp what's needed in the country at the moment at all. Truss is just woeful, a shoddy Thatcher impersonation without the drive or determination. I worry that she could be so easily manipulated if in power. Very rich of Mordaunt supporting Tories moaning about her treatment by the daily mail etc.
Corky Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 Johnson can bat away his incompetence with quips and waffle. Truss doesn't have that capacity. 1

What a ****ing shitshow of a country we're in Just what is it about Truss that she can hold any high office let alone the main job. Do her supporters really see her as a Thatcher figure. Seems a dork to me. Any idea?

Legend_in_blue Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 This is a complete disaster. Self implosion imminent.

Has anyone considered that if she’s obviously a disaster, the party will ditch her next year - no way will they sleepwalk into an election defeat. The tories don't really do that ….. loyally isn’t a word they understand! remember that she starts with only 30% of mp’s voting for her. wouldn’t be hard to drive a no confidence vote if she’s as dreadful as she looks 2

Kamikaze that by the Tories. Think Mordaunt would be the people's most likely vote surely? Think she'd be the biggest challenge for Starmer. Granted Labour can fvck it up against the worst of them but that's another matter entirely. I was thinking earlier - who would be the best and worst case for Starmer? I think worst case would have been Mordaunt, not for what she’s shown in the debates and campaign but for what she might become. It would have been hard to predict how good or bad she would be as leader over two years. Sunak, I reckon Starmer’s going to fancy that he has enough ammunition against him at election time, but he’d likely have a tough argument at times. Truss, I reckon he’ll be rubbing his hands together because she’s omniuseless. The downside being the worry over what damage she’ll do to the country over the next two years before an election rolls around. You think Boris was bad? Imagine a less competent, less charismatic, hawkish version of him. If the Conservative membership don’t vote for Sunak, I can genuinely see them condemning the party for a generation. 5

Time will tell - I'd be shocked if they bomb 2 PM's out in one term. The optics would be horrific.

Chopping and changing leaders constantly won’t only put off the moderates but it’ll put off the core vote too.
Foxdiamond Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 I don't think Truss will get enough support in the country. Sorry I'll get me coat

Nalis Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 They'd both lose the next GE, silving linings and all that 1

SecretPro Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 Truss will be the next PM, she will get the membership vote by far. Which is great news for Labour voters come the GE, because she is thick as pig shit. 1
