I didn't watch the game but the fact I didn't watch the game says all you need to know. I'm bored of this team and I feel a slow decline had kicked in. I know Thursday is more important but I've seen nothing from us this season that makes me think we'll get a result in Rome. And god help us in the league too. Little to play for and we've barely look bothered all season when there was.

Obviously Thursday is vital ,but so is how we finish this season and the momentum we take into the next.

Agree but do you see that happening?

No surprise with the result today. We expected nothing and we got nothing.

Much more worrying was Brendan’s interview post match where he spoke about KDH and Maddders’ injuries. Tight calf and the same old hip problem. We desperately need both to be fully fit on Thursday night.
I’m hoping it’s all just mind games against Jose, but he did sound concerned about their potential availability.

Great idea ,so now if they do play,Jose will send his boys out to rough them up a bit, early doors😄

The season is dead. We probably won’t win again until Southampton. And to be honest we have to invest everything into the ECL…….

Based on what I've seen this season , No.

It's a massive concern with how we're playing and where we're heading.

Hope I'm wrong

We will "get a result" on Thursday, whether it's the one we want remains to be seen.

You didn’t watch us battle against Rennes or defeat PSV?

FT IN A PERFECTLY FORMED NUTSHELL

If we go out on Thursday, at least there is an opportunity for us to pick our strongest team for a few games and see what we look like then. Although we will be firmly ready for the beach.

In isolation, we did ok today with a much weakened side. But it's the continuous problems that are the problem, and Rodgers has to resolve them this summer.

Castagne was good, and Perez was good first half but just takes too long to make up his mind. Until his bottle tackle Soyuncu wasn't too bad.

Falling out of love with Iheanacho, despite his goal. Daka feeding off scraps but at least looks like he's trying.

Need to sign a leader, I don't care what position he plays. Need someone who's going get it out of everyone and organise.

To save the space in the paper, the Mercury match report should simply be

Bigger fish to fry, 5/10 for all.

There's absolutely no point moaning about any aspect of the game. We all expected Spurs to pin us against the wall and steal our lunch money and that's pretty much what happened. We didn't get a wedgie for good measure and we can all move on and hope Thursday doesn't end the season.

Biggest concern with Daka for me is that he’ll get nowhere near the same game time next season to develop if we don’t get into Europe.

I’m partly with those “he’s still young, getting used to English football” people, but I also think comparing him to Vardy’s first season in the Championship where you play more games and have smaller squads is daft. Truth is without Europe Daka’s chances to develop next season will probably be quite small.

Daka did well in the group stages of the Europa League and probably needs that kind of thing. He then got his break in the league with Vardy missing almost half the season through injury and he hasn’t taken it.

He now ends this season, still distinctly 3rd choice striker in the pecking order and that’s going to be his biggest problem in his development. If we aren’t playing in Europe and only playing 1 game a week and not having to rotate the squad so much this season, the 3rd choice striker just isn’t going to get enough game time to develop - it will probably be the same as he had in the league in the first half of the season - thrown on in the last 20 minutes or so every 2 or 3 games and that’s about it.

I think he needs us to qualify for Europe almost more than any other player.

Soyuncu and Amartey yet again a costly mess, no desire to keep the ball out of the goal. Soyuncu can be aggressive but he’s rarely shown it this year and the less said about Amartey the better

Lack of quality on the ball to really create much. Mendy’s another nothingness of a footballer - not good enough defensively to compensate for Ndidi and isn’t very progressive with the ball.

Too much deadwood on the pitch at the same time and those that aren’t deadwood just aren’t at the level yet or atm.

Spurs weren't the best, we were just extremely poor.

Perez - He doesn't provide a left wing alternative which meant Thomas had to keep playing back and he's too lightweight. Needs to be sold.

Soumare - looks off the pace and needs a good pre season. Rodgers wants him to play more forward but he needs more direction.

Thomas - had a good season but looked a little out of depth today. One for the future.

All season, we've passed it around but not had much conviction. Barnes gives us that direct attacking run to the byline/into the final third.

Normally, we use full backs that would overlap.

Without the above two, we lack penetration and a goal threat.

I expected a hammering today so not suprised by the result.

61% possession, most of it between Kasper & the backline as usual. Yes, we have bigger fish to fry....and I wasn't expecting to win today. But we were in the game and didn't deserve to lose 3-1. Just wish we'd be more direct instead of always playing the extra pass.

Soumare played well considering he'd been out for a while, though Perez was good also.

Think Thomas could do with a spell in loan, not quite there yet.

It’s hard to watch Albrighton play nowadays.

Out of all the abysmal performances today and recently. You choose Marc who has been vital in our upturn in form (before the last few games) as the one to go for!?

Didn't have the best game today, admitted, but was certainly not the worst player on the pitch today.

Absolutely spot on

Far far worse performances today than Albrighton.

If we play with a front two he'll see a lot of game time.

The worry of this is that we don't have the right players to fit the formation of a back 4 and a front 2 that requires it.
