Weird straw man but I’ll answer you,

No I don’t think he should play

However I think that any fan that went out of their way to humiliate him today is thick & wrong

He doesn't need fans to humiliate him. He does that all by himself.

Not sure why my comment makes me a strawman.

It was a straw man argument, you are not actually a straw man, don’t worry about it.

I agree with you, he doesn’t need thick blokes in the crowd trying to humiliate him, glad you didn’t join in 👍🏻

Look I’m not an expert specialist goalkeeping coach or anything but it seems to me that this particular unusual choice of stance is showing the opposition a little too much of the goal :dunno:

We wouldn't have lost if Hermansen wasn't injured.

He saves the first and third goals, and the defence is better organised for the second.

We get a dull and uninspiring 0-0 rather than a season ending 3-0 spanking.

I agree if you wind the clock back to the relegation season Kasper if he stayed gets us the extra points to keep us up as like Mads it’s the timing of the saves they make in the match that keeps you in a game and also inspires the back line and lifts the crowd!

Regarding the booing, I wonder if this protest might have the counterproductive affect of making it more difficult for Ruud to drop him?

The manager has publicly criticised the fans for singling out ward.  To drop him now might look like he has been forced into it by the mob.

You do raise a valid point, but the alternative is this stance:

We are the kings of mystery injuries.

Ward needs a light strain in training that keeps him out for 5 months.

It's not about humiliating the useless f@cker. It's simply about communicating to both him and the coaching staff that we do not want him playing for us anymore.

It shouldn't make it more difficult to drop him. RvNs job is to win football matches and that will not happen if he picks Ward. If he doesn't realise that  then frankly we have appointed a self sabotaging moron as a manager and need to bin him off as well.

I kind of agree with this.

I have always hated seeing our own players being booed.  Makes me cringe, but I am willing to make an exception for Danny Ward, not to cause him any distress but simply because he has demonstrated on several occasions how damaging his inclusion is to the team.   After the relegation season, the thought that ward could ever represent us again in the Premier league should have been unthinkable, yet here he is.  I think the fans are entitled to protest.

Just on the booing - didnt start until 2-0 and he had already cost us the game

(realise he then chucked in the 3rd for good measure)

The difficulty is the performances in the relegation season are in the fore of everyobes mind (which I am not sure Van Nistleroy fully appreciates.)

Its not a keeper having a couple of poor ganes and Danny Ward was given a lot of patients in that relegation season. Peoples tollerance for him has gone. People are booing- rightly or wrongly because they don't want to wait another half season with Danny Ward potentially playing any part. It does beg the question of how Iverson trains as Ruud must have surely been told that Danny was dropped to 3rd/4th choice over the last few years.

This. Mads saves all three of those. As he has been doing all season. Ward has come in and let 6 goals in in 135 minutes of football, 4 of which were at least partially - if not entirely - down to him having the spatial awareness of a last-minute Christmas shopper and the wrist strength of a cheesestring.

The team performance was rancid, but any competent goalkeeper at least makes it difficult in those situations. Ward actively makes it easier, and that feeds through to the entire team, and the crowd mood. There is zero confidence in his ability from anyone either in front of him or around him, which has a negative effect on the entire outcome. I dislike xG as a stat but f*** me, 0.41 resulting in 3 goals really is damning. In normal circumstances Wolves would have taken more than two full games to find the back of the net a single time with the quality of chances they had.

I think this is pretty unfair. I do a lot of my Christmas shopping quite late and my spatial awareness is pretty good.

On a more serious note I completely agree. Watching back the goals on MOTD, none of them should be going in. The 2nd is absolutely awful.

How did Kasper train with this guy day in day out and keep high standards?

Losing Kasper was the beginning of the end for us

Piece of piss, turn up, watch Ward for 20 minutes, go home looking like a super star.

My bad anyway (as didn't know it was on at 22:30 on the BBC), but had thought that MOTD wasn't on as normally watch it via the BBC website - but there was no MOTD video link on its main football page (and it still isn't).
