That Casemiro signing for £70,000,000 a player who will be 31 in February. Is a strange one.

The thing is, they desperately need a defensive midfielder, and ulttimately they've signed the best in the business (available) at the highest level. Even if he's only got 2/3 big years left in him he could be the difference between a top four place and 5th place, which financially is huge for them.

The alternative is they sign someone young/talented for £50/60m or Rice for £80m and they make no difference for a couple of years.

United need instant success, so it's probably not as silly as it sounds.

C'est pourquoi Forest est en pourparlers pour signer ce gros attaquant de merde de Rennes afin qu'ils puissent le prêter à l'Olympiacos

Soyez polis avec Rennes !:yesyes:

Maybe too old though? Past his prime?

Anthony Gordon is like a schoolboy who can't believe his luck, and won't get criticised at home for being fairly average.

Chelsea spending stupid amounts on average players then will cry when teams make them pay even more for players that are actually good. It’s their own faults for being c**** in the first place

Can't really believe that Wilfred Zaha hadn't moved to a bigger club than Palace (no offence to them), with a better chance of trying to win something.

Can’t stand Zaha but the two goals he’s scored this season with his left foot. Right out the top drawer.

He needs to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond though. I think that’s his personality.

Isak to the Geordies.

Outrageous

Yeah just posted the same in the Prem thread, they've been trying to get him since Jan, big move for them!

You've got no chance keeping players when people like Gordon who are playing for their homegrown team yet still seem desperate to go whenever the money bags call. Not that I blame him but it highlights how hard it is to keep anyone.

It’s hard not to look at the start to this season and see that we are poor on the pitch and falling behind teams in the market that over the last 5 years we have been ahead of, to such an extent it’s hard to see us finishing above some of them, including Newcastle, West Ham, Arsenal, Palace, Wolves and maybe even Leeds based on recent evidence :(

Its going to be a really tough year, hopefully we will be in a position to actually rebuild next summer…

Isak is a fantastic signing, Newcastle will be in Europe next season imo.

7th is pretty much an open goal for them this season if they play it right. Brighton look strong but probably come up short, as do Palace but the usual clubs like us and West Ham have lost momentum.

With the money that's behind Newcastle, they'll be the next Man City.

They won’t be able to do it like Man City did because uefa and the PL will be watching them (in the way that they didn’t watch Man City)
