‘Free’

what will he want as a s/o fee ???  Surely £10m on top of £80k/week ?

Ten million pounds signing on fee? lol

£50/60k a week if he signs here. No transfer is free if you want to be pedantic about it but it wasn’t so long ago we were muted to be signing him for £25m+

Seriously mate - he hasn’t run his contract down to earn 50/60k/week. that’s not more than he’s on at Burnley. and he will want a chunky s/o fee aswell.  Newcastle will pay it if no one else does …..

Johnson won't be cheap. Even if Forest don't get promoted. They can still command a high fee based on their his value to them. Unless he says he wants to leave then it may bring the price down but I wouldn't expect Forest to request below anything like £25m-30m...

Is there even any indication we have been linked with him at all?

We don't need a new GK. Schmeichel/Iversen/Ward are more than adequate options.

RW and better talent at CB is a must. Get those two positions sorted and then focus on other targets later.

Rumours are that Forest will have to sell a few players to balance the books if they don't go up but yeh for Johnson you'd imagine around £20-25m which is what we paid for Maddison

Tarkowski?

It amazes me how the same people who blamed our poor season on the back of losing Fofana, want us to buy another CB that has no similar attributes whatsoever.

We missed out on Gueyi last summer who would have been ideal, and Colwill looks to be in a similar mould too.

Tarkowski will be another Vestergaard. In fact, Jannik has far more experience playing in a highline at Saints and BMG, that Tarkowski has playing the last 6 years at low block Burnley.

The 'Evans comparisons' are also very poor. Evans had a lot of experience playing in a Manchester United side that had expectations to win everything. They didn't sit with 11 men behind the ball every game for 90 minutes.

The main thing about the calls for Tarkowski is that he’s a right sided centre back, we need a left sided one.

Not a cat in hells chance Nottingham Forest loving, Nottingham born and bred Brennan Johnson comes to Leicester City. No chance. Need to let this thought go. It ain’t gonna happen.

Yeah. No Nottingham-born, Forest-loving player has ever joined us before, have they?

Yes, very good. But we’re talking about a very different calibre and profile of player here. Not to mention a man in high demand with many options

He's on £50k a week at Burnley so £60k would be a huge pay rise.

More likely to be Ben Mee on a free I think who Rodgers is a fan of but is old.

I would take him though - experienced prem defender who is brilliant in the air and would be third or fourth choice. Also out of contract.

I really dont get this comment.

You dont consider £10k a week to be a huge payrise? Madness!

Not for a player who has allowed his contact to run down for the past two years and could have signed a new deal at 70k+ two years ago - no I don’t.

You can’t seriously be comparing footballer’s salary’s and normal people ????

A better calibre than leading us to the championship title, Premier League title and an FA Cup?

60k would put him above any Burnley players and above all but about 7 of our current squad.

This is for a 3rd or 4th choice defender.

A 40k a month pay rise is exceptional in any profession, especially for someone whose whole career has been in a relegation dog fight.

The 70k you are banging on about was to sign with Burnley....the team he clearly no longer wants to play for.

If it happened for a tree tattooed Big Wes it can happen for Johnson.

By definition of the word calibre, yes potentially. He’ll be moving to a club the size of which, will mean he’ll be hoarding silverware at some point in his career, imo. Time will tell.
Anyway, my main point being, Johnson will prove to be more loyal to Forest than Wes, and he won’t come to Leicester

Only 7 of our squad on more than 60k/ week ???

have you seen our wage bill ?

I'm afraid you’re completely ignoring the fact that the fella is a £20/25m player available for nothing …… he doesn’t want to play for Burnley because he wants the huge pay day that a free will give him
