Very random, but good for the city I guess. Interesting how they will split the pubs etc.

Surely old Trafford would have been a better option ?

Interested to see this.

Nice. Unsure why us (new thing where holders will host?). Liverpool fans will hate it lol

The issue is with the Women's Euro final, which is the next day at Wembley. My guess is they want to keep it out of London, and the Manchester police didn't want the headache if it were held at Old Trafford (although Man U might have also nixed the idea.)

I doubt they'd have wanted Man City and Liverpool fans both crammed into Old Trafford.

Liverpool fans were moaning that they have to go all the way down to Wembley for FA Cup semi finals and now they're moaning that they don't get to go to Wembley for something they regularly call a "Glorified Friendly"

Stadium availability bit of an issue this year with the Womens Euros and rearranged gigs plus Commonwealth Games.

They’ve managed to select a city which is via train not directly linked. If it’s a 5.30pm kick off, Liverpool fans will have a race to get their train back post match

Pleased for the Club and the City in general but i'm sure there are other venues more suitable

That’s the spirit!

Completely stupid decision even if it benefits us.

Transport links from Leicester to the North West are terrible at the best of times.

30000 Mancs and Scousers on a Saturday Evening at a stadium where there’s no natural segregation in the area around the ground is a recipe for trouble.

Feather in our cap, but hard to see their rationale if I’m honest!

I can see why you wouldn’t want to do it in Manchester, but there are other cities with better transport links to both there and Liverpool.

Makes me think the decision is probably more to do with the newness of the stadium, or broadcasting facilities or something.

It's the 30,000 Mancs and Scousers without tickets, but hanging out in town that will be the real recipe for trouble.

I'd be surprised if they got 10,000 tickets each

They're not all Mancs and Scousers though are they. Plenty in the Midlands and in London too

Bet Derby station are delighted that they've been lumbered with train changes with no actual benefit to the station lol

Which makes it worse because we've just seen what happens when there's not enough tickets for all the Scousers.

I genuinely had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April.. Prestigious as it is for us, the transport links are terrible and having tens of thousands of Mancs & Scousers hanging round the city, unsegregated and mostly ticketless will be dangerous at best.
