We are getting screwed over for Praet, Arsenal are about to have Rudders boxers around in ankles, long time target Charlie boy is alleged to be off to Milan and we have released a 37 year old third choice keeper. It’s all going to plan. All on schedule

The new RW is Lookman. Now all we need is to bring back Junior Lewis for midfield and we're ready to go. If I'd known this was the extent of Brendan's rebuild, I'd have kept my little book of good Championship Parking spaces. 2 1
Popular Post Bptiger Posted 18 June 2022 Popular Post Posted 18 June 2022 The way this is going I can see us in the championship in the next 3-5 years . Even the crap teams are signing class players , and we are back shopping at the school strolls 5
Sly Posted 19 June 2022 Posted 19 June 2022 https://www.premierleague.com/transfers/summer The window is still open for a while yet. If rumours are true and shopping around I could see us looking at. Alfie Mawson - We admired him for a long time. Ben Woodburn - Promising striker, surprised he’s been released. Jesse Lingard - Why not! Andriy Yarmolenko - Cheaper option for the right side of midfield / attack. John Ruddy - 3rd choice GK. 2

Sly Posted 19 June 2022 Posted 19 June 2022 It was more filling a few squad places on the cheap I don’t think we’ll go and get those 5 or 6 and leave it at that. Ruddy for example, fills the GK void of someone who is experienced but wants game time. Ben Foster would be a great 2nd keeper if we look to move Ward on. 1

Yes, last summer was diabolical(the worst since the infamous 2016/2017 window) but they have a pretty good track record overall.

Hardly getting left behind with another 9 weeks of the window to go.
Gazza M Posted 19 June 2022 Posted 19 June 2022 We have this every summer. The deals get done in the end. Unfortunately last year they were crap. If they are crap again then we have real reason to worry. But personally I feel like we will get it right this time.

There was plenty of noise about it until the season ended then all of a sudden nothing. You’d think a club that had been making a deal about it for a few months would at least have some things in the pipeline. I’m not saying we dont but the lack of movement since the season ended is becoming more noticable by the day. All it does is heap pressure on Rodgers if we go into the season with very little in terms of signings. 3

Frankly speaking, chopping out deadwood is a prerequisite of any re-build. This may require more than 1 window. Shipping out will help us recruit in the future. I am hoping we have some talent coming through that is already on our books. Better this than signing pension hunters. Edited 19 June 2022 by mozartfox

Can't remember them saying they were going to rebuild the squad in the first week of the window? Or it would be all done in one window. Edited 19 June 2022 by coolhandfox
