BBC up here (Reporting Scotland) suggested that they have really struggled to shift tickets for Scotland's opener, tickets are still available for sale and they recently gave 1,000 tickets to local schoolkids.

Perhaps the 2 most purely entertaining of my lifetime were in places you wouldn't expect - USA and Japan/Korea. Russia 2018 was also a very entertaining tournament.

 

If I had to pick just 1 tournament to relive, it'd be France 98. A combination of great players, some great games, and the atmosphere of a major sporting event in France. But probably just because I was 13. An iconic tournament.

It's not going to be a farce. Everything is sold out. I have 6 friends of mine travelling there and they paid reasonable prices. They even rented a mini van at a price you won't even find here in UK. Not even close. 

Do you guys now realised the corruption in FIFA and the sport in general? I understand some of you hate Trump but your reactions are ridiculous.

... you're certain of this as much as you are certain of the rest of your statement here?

 

I guess we'll see how things play out, but I'll be honest, turning back a high quality referee and subjecting incoming teams to discriminatory border checks on account of their nationality to name but two matters, isn't a good look for a tournament which is supposed to be entirely about equality of opportunity. 

 

NB. The current US administration have demonstrated, repeatedly, that they are unbelievably objectionable to anyone with a hint of empathetic conscience, so I'm not sure there's really much room for argument there.

2018 was bloody class, the truly overlooked tournament imo

 

2010 and 2014 can largely get in the bin

Slightly nuts to think there have been 6 world cups between this one and France 98, the same as between France 98 and Mexico 1970.

The problem is that a lot of you and some specific media focus solely on the political aspect. The tournament will be unfortunately a huge success. I'm saying unfortunately because I want it to fail miserably not because of Trump but because I want the sport to collapse. 

I don't give a F about a ref from Africa, Antarctica or Mars. He's part of the demise of the sport like all of them.
