some of you need to get a grip, calling fans who are making an effort to get behind the team "embarrassing" and "pathetic". it isn't spreading across the stadium because you can't be arsed to join in

Didn’t you know that atmosphere is horrendous mate? It’s fine when it’s not labelled or organised in any way but it’s horrendous when some like minded people get together and try to help everybody. God forbid it goes any further!

On the songs and lyrics front, the European one stands out where it changed part way through the season. If you want others to join in why alter stuff? Keep it simple.

Best way to manage what? It’s a section for singing, what is there to manage? Are you telling fans where they can stand?

I hope it does take off and grow, but from today I didn’t see any difference.

Not sure on the European song but sometimes lyrics are changed because they are no longer accurate. Like the one incorporating Porto, Brugge, Copenhagen.

It's a lot more complex than just having a singing section and everyone cracks on. There are still quieter and louder people. Spreading those out to get the best results for example. Some people need others to lead before opening their mouth (not a negative by the way). When to get songs going, which songa work well, how to get others involved. As simple as it sounds on the outside, there are lots of intricacies to fine tune as well.

Fingers crossed it takes off and people accept it. Personally, it has really lifted my matchday experience already and I am sure it will continue. There will also be more exciting games which will naturally up the atmosphere. Will be very interesting to see evolve.

As UFS always say, they are open for chats and constructive feedback. If you ever want to chat in person and understand who they are better, and what their aims are.

But it's the first game it's been a thing, we need to give it time surely?

You can't just write it off after the first attempt lol

And who gives a shit about Palace and their fanatics,  let them do their thing and we'll do ours.

No, no, no , yes we can it's like the same system we use for judging players lol

I also sit a block away and thought it was noticeably better than last season.

By no know means the finished article but certainly a step in the right direction and I’m sure that area will continue to grow and improve.

Really don’t get the negativity lol

They couldnt even sell all the season tickets in the singing section, despite all their bluster about how everyone wanted it.  I don't know how many people have stayed there from last season, but a number of people were "encouraged' to leave that area and seats they may have sat in for years to make way for them. To then not even to be able to sell out of season tickets for seats that were most likely taken in previous seasons is a shame for those people who felt they had to move.  They made a big thing of the survey that the club sent out   but only 1800 of 30 odd thousand that they sent the survey out too responded. Hardly a true representation of the whole fan base. The real truth behind that survey, is that the vast majority of fans couldn't be bothered to fill it in, because they weren't fussed either way.  I'm sure that most, if not all of the guys that have been calling for the singing section filled it in though, and would make up a significant number of those 1800 that responded.

The last tifo was shite, let's be honest.

I don't doubt their commitment, but why is it all so forced?

"I'm a better fan than you because I sit in a singing section"

Bollocks.

We shouldn't need a singing section.

I don't care if people disagree, I really don't. It's cringeworthy.

Is that a direct quote?

the atmosphere will evolve for the bigger games, it’s hardly going to be a quiet one when forest visit.. the kop will be the best it’s been in a while, like when the bigger teams visited last season.. I personally don’t see how the ufs are trying to be superior, in fact great efforts

Moan about the atmosphere, people do something to improve it, moan about the people trying to improve it.

Yep that sounds about right.

Then offer no other possible suggestion for improvement.

I don't think it will be bouncing 90 mins, fully aware of that but some people think that is what the singing section does.

However, to try to shorten/remove the lulls, orchestration is needed. Unfortunately, the 80s/90s are gone. Premier League football has changed the demographic.

Next thing you will be having someone with a megaphone trying to get things going, like the Americans. I just don't agree that a crowd needs orchestrating. Football is about spontaneity, responding to what's in front of you. Trying to orchestrate a crowd is as embarrassing as the prawn sandwich lot that go to football, all be it in an opposite way.

So you're complaining about something that might happen?

So if a crowd was to respond to what’s in front of them at the kp then it would be like a library for 90 mins, sometimes it’s hardly inspiring football. People seem to forget that the atmosphere lifts the players and I believe that’s what happened today, up until 70 mins.. why do you think at some corners they wave their arms in the air? They want some encouragement.. nothing wrong with supporting through vocals..

I moved to stop drunk teenagers diving over me as happened on one of the trials. Didn't really want to move as i sing!  From my new seat in sk3 the singing section was a huge disappointment, didnt live up to the amazing atmosphere they thought they were going to create, possibly because as expected some of the fans that moved just moved to stand not sing.  The club have been taken in by this and dont realise an atmosphere is spontaneous not orchestrated

Watford? Think I stood next to you lol they were arseholes to be fair.

As much as I think Rodgers is a ****, some of you lot genuinely deserve him. Clear issue but someone else’s fault, and knocking/not giving a chance to the people trying to fix it? Sounds familiar to me.

I bloody hope not!

You must hate the atmosphere at every other country apart from ours.

That's fair enough you like very quiet stadiums.  Others don't and are trying to improve it.

You can't please everyone, you can still support the club in any way you see fit.

Serious question here, no trolling.

Why do your lot  always use other groups in Europe as a yard stick, you see it times in posts by the regular UFS posters on here whether it’s atmosphere/ standing etc.

We are not a club in another country with different cultures and fan followings, no club in England has someone with a mega phone chanting with his back to the pitch, but you always go on about European groups.

If that’s what you’re into, fine, crack on and go and join them but their culture will never happen here.

Is that why you never join in with chants started elsewhere in the ground? You here them start on the other side of the kop, they travel along and you start something else and I’ve heard the we can’t hear it because we are singing something else before excuse.

This happens at away grounds as well as for numerous seasons we were stood close by the UFS away followers, yes they’d start a lot and we’d all join in but if anyone else tried to get some chant going they’d stand in silence, it takes two to tango, you’re no greater than any other fan regardless of what you’re trying to achieve.

I had high expectations for this new area, I’m not part of it but only a block away and it wasn’t any different to when you were up nearer the top in the chants travelling.

Add in there’s always a new chant no sod knows the words to, keep it simple and one’s we all know and it should improve.

This simply isn’t true, if something starts and can be heard then it’s joined in with straight away.

Jesus, we have had some great atmospheres at the walkers and now king power. Even when we were getting 20 odd thousand in the championship we had some great atmospheres. The Middlesbrough game when it snowed and only 8000 got there, was a fantastic atmosphere that night. We didn't need a singing section it happened naturally. Not every game has a great atmosphere at any club. I've been to Anfield, supposedly renowned for its atmosphere,  more times than I care to remember, and some of those games, the only time you heard a peep out of Liverpool fans was ynwa at the  start of the game. Look, they've got what they wanted now, they have their singing section, and more prominence for the TV cameras, so good luck to them, but if they think it's going to change anything in regards to atmospheres being created in any way but naturally than sadly I think they will be disappointed.

Until Rodgers ball leaves the KP the atmosphere is going to be crap no matter what we do! when he’s gone then maybe the stadium will come alive again

Like it was when Puel was here before him?

I thought I could hear a couple of new chants today but couldn't make out the words. Think one was for Maddison and one for KDH but not sure.

There is nothing wrong with the atmospheres at English grounds, there never has been. They are noisy, but they become noisy naturally rather than in a manufactured way.  I don't like the ultra culture across Europe though, I will give you that. The Americans with their megaphones I don't mind them, they are just embarrassing, but it works for them in their culture so good luck to them, just don't want it over here.
