The rebuild is Perez signing a five year extension and benching Tielemans for the season. We don't need no new players.

But this just tells me what's the point then? If we are never going to compete with the top 4, why bother signing anyone, why bother turning up, why bother even giving a shite about football?

Isn't the aim to win things and become the best, like in all sports?

We have some of the richest football owners on Earth. If they want to win stuff, they really are going to have to put their hands in their pockets and break this frugal break-even 'sustainable' plan they have year on year - its only sustainable if you are not arsed about competing for trophies and titles fairly consistently.

Pretty sure every owner, player and fan should be aiming to become the best.

Have a look at our league system and then look at how many of those teams actually win anything meaningful.

You are deluded.

Could anyone tell me, using the dates of previous transfers, at what date I should panic uncontrollably about our transfer window? I understand our pre season games are the traditional time for unreasonable assessments of team performance but surely there should be another date before that where we should have some decent new players? July 25th?

Let's not panic prematurely. The transfer window has a while to run.

After last season's summer transfer window we only signed Lookman who potentially improved our first choice eleven. The rest were squad players at best.

So far we haven't even re-signed Lookman - so we're actually winding the clock back two years instead of one.

But ..... the transfer window has a while to run ...... even if the clock is starting to click a little louder ....

We have been mentioned 3 times on BBC football gossip today. 3 TIMES!!!. So, i have decided to stay glued to the laptop, party poppers at the ready. They have a long sell by date mind you.

I think Forest have had a more successful transfer window. Is that an inflammatory statement? I don’t want to inflame things.

Previously, transfers were the main focus during transfer windows. This season, Rodgers is concentrating on improving the quality of the glazing. People need to understand that the club is a WiP.

As a newbie to this forum can someone please tell me if this level of unwarranted panic in a transfer window is the norm or is this a particularly bad window?  There is more flapping than an aviary.

Yep sure is but having done my research it appears as though our first signing in 2020/21 was Timothy Castagne at the beginning of September- obviously deadline day - but surely that can’t be right?

Because of Covid the transfer window was delayed.

You call this unwarranted panic? You’ve never seen unwarranted panic if you think this is unwarranted panic. We’re not even out of first gear yet.

I'm probably going to live to regret this, but whilst it's disappointing not to have signed anyone yet, I think there will be plenty of work going on in the background.

It's quite clear we can't buy until we sell which makes it extra difficult if your carrying dead weight that has no interest in forcing their own move.

There's definitely going to be no rebuild but I'm sure we'll get 1 or 2 in.
