Imagine some unsuspecting manager scribbling notes in their office, they’ve not even thought about our loanee for months. The door’s kicked off its hinges whilst his secretary is squawking Mr Huth is here to see you.

Our loanee is captain, pay doubled and Filbert is now loanee FC’s assistant manager.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has pointed to George Hirst's lack of pre-season as the main reason behind his omission from recent Blackburn Rovers squads.

That probably applies to Stolarczyk, if we hadn't delayed the loan until mid August he could have had pre season with Fleetwood. A quality player would be up to speed by now though, and in Hirsts case I've never seen anything to suggest he's above League 1.

Dress it up as much as you like but our recent loan record has been disastrous. This will fill our promising development players with dread. It could damage or even end their careers. Hamza is doing fine because he is a mature player and a lot better than some on here think. This club is ripe for root and branch changes that means from Rodgers downward . We need a new dynamic.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has pointed to George Hirst's lack of pre-season as the main reason behind his omission from recent Blackburn Rovers squads.

The striker signed on loan from Leicester City on August 31 with the option to buy. However, it's been a difficult start to his career at Ewood Park.

Hirst has made only two starts for Rovers and missed a last-minute penalty away at Cardiff City. Since the 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic, he hasn't been named in any of the last three squads.

Tomasson reiterated that Hirst remains part of his plans but conceded a lack of pre-season fitness is hampering his performances. Therefore, Rovers are working with the 23-year-old in training and with the Under-21s to build up his minutes.

"George is a good lad, a brilliant lad," Tomasson told Lancs Live. "We also know he didn't have a pre-season and that has been biting him a little bit.

"We have tried to get him going with gametime in that way. Now he has played 90 minutes for the 21s the other day, that was the first time more or less for the whole seasons.

"When he finished at Portsmouth he only had one pre-season game with Leicester. That is the difficulty when you get players in late that they are missing a good pre-season and also a proper training way and learning how we do things.

"He is working hard and he is a very positive lad. I am sure he will get fitter and fitter to get minutes. I think everyone understands it but we can forget it (importance of pre-season).

"It is normal but we have to remember it. He hasn't had a pre-season and I am always honest in that way and something we have to take into consideration."

...our new approach to pre-season has not helped Hirst!!!

No excuse for not being up to speed in a physical sense and our lack of games played is not a recipe for getting game time in fringe players' legs.

I remember Andy King remarking about coming back from holiday to pre-season under Pearson, and how soon they were doing ball work as everyone had come back in tip-top condition.

Stolarczyk wants recalling in January if possible. Waste of time him being there.

This has to be the worst year for loans, its extraordinary. Rodgers talked at length about the importance of Stolarczyk getting a loan and yet he's barely getting a sniff. I'm also gob smacked Ben Nelson cannot get in to a diabolical Rochdale side.

I know all of this isn't easy to guarantee but we seem to be finding it very difficult.

Yeah it does mean it is quicker to do though as I don’t have to go looking how the player actually did lol

Ironically Nelson was starting pretty much every match till he was called up by England.

He missed 4 games after England with an injury and unfortunately for him Rochdale picked up some decent results in that period as well

His not in charge of loans.....

I expect he probably will have been involved in it this summer though as Branston left in April and we have only just appointed Huth?

Aside from the GK's, Nelson is really the only prospect, right? We are looking to move Eppiah, Leshabela, and Hamza on...

But I am not sure what Nelson, Young, and Jakub are getting from this.
