Rudkin is an absolute tool.

Bur let's be honest he's so far up the owners arse he has a job for life.

And right now. On the pitch is the issue and that boils down to Brendan so bye, bye.

I'm sorry, but Rudkin for me would have to go.  I appreciate the guy knows the club, however he came from youth team development to being Director of Football and it baffles me as to what qualifies the guy to be in such an important role.  Yes he brought through talented young players, but, that does not qualify him for that role.  Infact, I think I'd rather have Susan Whelan in the role who seems a pretty tough negotiator.

Yes Brendan signed a bit of dross last summer, but I'm assumin his hands were tied somewhat and he was relying on the recruitment team to aid him here!  Glad Congleton has gone too, but we need to get back to our old ways of scouting when we had Walsh in charge, in fact, I'd bring him back as DoF!

Rudkin has been here a long time and been a big part of our success. In real terms, Rodgers has been here 5 minutes. Do we really know what contract players are on, do we believe everything we hear?

Were things perhaps a bit different before Rodgers and Congertons influence? Not all signings are going to work for any club but didn't we used to be really proud of how we used to do things and in general how things worked out? Wasn't Rudkin there for most of that?

Have you ever met Rudkin and fully understand his role and what precisely he's been responsible for to call him a tool?

Hes been there that long that yes I have met him and know plenty of lads who were on city's books as well as their parents that share the same view of him. Is that enough for you to allow me to call him a tool 👍

There’s a very good reason the “rebuild” hasn’t happened, beyond the obvious wage bill issue. We have an excellent starting 11, one that if kept fit and managed properly will be in and around the top 6. We lack squad depth and a quality manager. BR isn’t trusted with money anymore, clearly and with good reason looking at the crap he’s brought in wherever he’s been.

Well... 6-0 didn't kill O'Neill

2 reasons for that bud

one it was 6-1

two it was Taylor

there was a 5-0 in 99

O’Neil was probably on one of the lower wages in the league, in comparison with BR Expectations are a lot different.

Let's be fair, I was working in WHSmith aged 17 at the time, and I was quoting from memory.  I know Bergkamp had fun that day.

The 5-0 is what I remember.

Also, you didn't say *TWAT* Taylor- you have broken the rules.

When I met him on a work basis I found him to be very professional and clearly cared about what he did. He was also well aware that some of what he did was unpopular but everyone has their orders and the buck stops there when you have to carry them out. He'd just had to sack someone and was quite upset about it. Sometimes there's a bigger picture that not everyone is privy to.

So if you're pinning all transfers on rudkin, does it make him a tool how he managed to sell Musa for a profit after being terrible, selling Maguire for a world record fee when he was bang average. Selling schlupp for £13m? Selling chilwell and drinkwater after poor seasons for us for a combined 80+m?

Buying little wes, Kante, Mahrez, ndidi ect ect

But obviously because this fake article suits people's narratives you feel you can justify calling him a tool, when in fact, he has been behind a group who have bought Leicester their best period in their history.

Precisely.

Sorry missed the part where I pinned all transfers in him. Infact I never mentioned transfers at all. My opinion of him is based on personal experience.

But at the same time, My original post suggested he was less to blame right now than rodgers. But don't let that get in the way of your agenda

And in what capacity did you meet him in a work basis. Genuine question.

I know several level headed kids, parents etc that would suggest he's anything but. I accept that it's a cut throat business but you are probably the 1st person I've ever seen have a positive thing to say about him

And I accept that I've barely come across anyone in the professional game that's actually not a complete **** away from the cameras

Although I'm unlikely to meet him again it wouldn't be right for professional reasons to say how and why I came to meet him but certain things of confidence were discussed.

Not a basis, I know, to completely judge a man but I think over the years, you have to take all the good things and his successes into consideration too as someone has mentioned.

He knew full well that something he'd had to do would sit very badly with the players but nevertheless it was necessary and he was told to do it.

As for the parents of kids I can't comment on him with regards to that other than football can be a horrible cut throat business at that level and certainly there are times when things could be dealt with better.

I know this partly because my son was involved between the ages of 12-17yrs with West Brom whilst, at the same time, going to Beauchamp College where all the academy kids had to go at that time (don't know whether they still do). This was Luke Thomas's era who is a very dedicated decent and grounded young man. My son was friends with quite a number of them and obviously kids talk, including what they see of and how they're treated by first teamers etc, some of it is quite comical to be honest.

Nevertheless, it can be a nasty business and very upsetting for them at a young age particularly as most don't make it. Some of them learn to just hate football. I personally know two that turned down professional contracts at then good Championship clubs because they just didn't want to play football anymore and wanted out.

As for parents, with my son, I met some who were brilliant but also some that were just so convinced about the talent of their kids but were basically living their lives through them. Some of them were just thick gobby puddings that must have been difficult to deal with.
