We've tried all sorts of combinations on the right this season but none have worked. We need to give Albrighton a chance, he'll certainly cover his RB when they go forward. Which has been a major issue, nobody covers for our FBs when they attack and hence we've got acres of space behind us. Marc will give it his all, that's for certain.

Give him a go against Villa, use Maddison in the middle.

I'm all for this, though it would mean dropping one of Daka or Nacho, assuming Barnes played on the left.

he does improve our current 11 as he will stretch the pitch from an attacking point and will also help defensively.

he lost his legs 2 or 3 years ago, what he does most now is get caught dwelling on the ball and falling on his face as he's dispossessed

Yes,  but we're really desperate now and it surely can be any worse, can it?!

Albrighton will bust his gut and give his all for the cause. He knows the situation we’re in and will lead by example to close the opposition down and attack spaces straight away. Maybe the others will follow his example. We’re all hurting he will show some fight that’s what we need to do now is fight for for their pride and the pride of the club

Sometimes, though, it's not about playing your best 11 players irrespective of whether it makes sense. If you can't fit those players into a sensible formation that gives the team balance and gets your best players playing in their best positions then you might have to play a less good player to provide the balance you are missing. That's why I am desperate for us to go back to 4141 with a midfield 3 of Wilf,  Youri and Maddison as a 10, with either Albrighton or Perez wide on the right. By playing Maddison as a right winger, Rodgers has repeated the same mistake that Sven made when he tried to shoehorn Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes into his England team,  and played Scholes on the left wing. The result is an unhappy Maddison, an unbalanced team, a right back who has to cover the whole side of the pitch alone, etc.

I would normally say that any other season but right now we need workhorses, back to basics work hard to win the ball etc. We already have enough players in the team that can score the goals and If we need to play a right winger to help out our full back who is drowning right now then think we need to do it

I do agree with both tbf.

Trouble is we have no right winger so Maddison is shoved there. He's obviously much better in the middle. It doesn't help Justin either, who I don't think has been good since coming back from injury, he is so exposed on the right.

It needs to either be Perez or Albrighton, and Perez isn't even a right winger but in home games especially we need to be on the front foot.

Sharky needs to be more vocal. But not vocal enough to tread in the skippers toes. Maybe play him at right back. That way the right winger will hear him but not Jonny. He can relay the messages

Greatest vice captain in the history of the club.

An utterly bizarre decision from Rodgers, raised a big red flag for me when this was confirmed, completely unexplainable decision having a VC who will never be on the pitch, feeds in to the narrative that BR is being bit of a bell as clearly looks like a wind up!

Even though it was the players that decided?

That would look real weird in the meeting room.

'So guys, thanks for your votes for captain and vice captain. Jonny is the main man. From your votes, Sharky is VC. But, I've made my own decision, and have chosen someone else'.

What kind of management would that be lol

Fully agree.

He should be promoted to full Captain.

Why would the players decide? That’s weird in itself. What benefit does it give the team having your VC as someone who’s going to be sat on the bench and not be able to influence the team on the pitch, where it matters!

Albrighton is a good pro and would offer exactly the same whether he was a VC or not. It’s completely pointless.

Here here, Infact … might aswell make Wes Morgan VC, he’ll get closer to the pitch than Albrighton! That would make a lot more sense! 🤣
