You clearly missed the point where HE DOESN’T HAVE TO ASK THE PLAYERS AND STAFF TO VOTE.

Doing so is actually highly unusual, if he wanted to have a vote he should have picked 3 or 4 players he expects to start most weeks and let the players vote on them.

I hope you are not in a position of senior leadership at any point.
It’s a huge thing in building a strong culture to ensure everyone feels like the have a voice and a say in the direction of any organisation.
He says it was almost unanimous, so there is strong will around the club for this to happen - if this keeps the squad happy, and he sets the example around the dressing room and on the training pitch then it’s a great appointment.

The fact he hasn't played yet, a guy who's determination has never been in question, is just another nail in the useless dwarf's coffin.

Why is he not getting on the pitch. We're desperate for some experienced heads to get us out of this rot.

He's not going to organise the defence is he, he's every bit as bad as Tielemans and Ndidi for giving away penalties.

When you’re as poor as we were yesterday everyone who’s not playing becomes a good player strangely. But Marc should be in the side. After yesterday’s debacle him, Praet, and dare I say it for his ability to go long with a diag, even Vesty maybe. Yes that’s how bad it’s got, because if we don’t defend with a low block against Villa we will be crucified.

As much as anything Albrigton will protect his full-back.  After yesterday improving our defensive side has to be a priority.

Barnes can carry a ball forward and has pace so he’d be on the other side for me

I think he does. He's a workhorse and will contribute from midfield to our defence.

He has protected them in the past though.

It’s often been the case throughout this time here that he comes into the side when we’re playing poorly and we look much better and more balanced when he comes in.

I’m also really surprised he’s not been given a go in this situation

That wouldn’t fit in the “we’ve got no one to play right wing” narrative though

The fact Rodgers hasn't gone back to Albrighton, who he goes back to every single time his back has been up against the wall, is even more evidence that he wants to be sacked.

He doesn't get enough assists or goals to contribute from midfield.

I'll give you he's a workhorse though and English fans love a workhorse. It's just another reaction calling for Albrighton. He's naturally a right winger, we need, but other than that he doesn't improve the first 11 now.

he does improve our current 11 as he will stretch the pitch from an attacking point and will also help defensively.

We don’t need attacking contributions right now though, we need defensive ones.

He’s always amongst the very top few % of players in attacking players in Europe when it comes to his pressing, tackling, interceptions and distance run. He offers his full back and the defence protection they don’t currently have.

He’s also always been brilliant at dropping back and stopping attacking counter attacks by dropping into space and forcing teams to go backwards allowing our players to get back, but it’s not something you can really measure by stats, only on the eye test, but it’s always been amongst his very best attributes

It’s not whether he improves the starting XI in terms of attacking numbers, he’s not a very creative player, we all know that - it’s whether he comes in and provides support and defensive solidity which we do desperately need right now - and he’s come in and done that so many times over the years.

We need to utilise the players we have.

It’s disappointing we have to play Perez or Albrighton but they’re still good enough to supply our better players in Maddison, Barnes, etc.

We would have probably created more chances yesterday if Marc was involved, his balls over the top would have been ideal for Daka and Iheanacho.

Albrighton is the only player out wide right who can give vardy those 1-2 chances with direct through balls or balls over the top. He did that in his last game for us even though it came to nothing.

I would normally say that any other season but right now we need workhorses, back to basics work hard to win the ball etc. We already have enough players in the team that can score the goals and If we need to play a right winger to help out our full back who is drowning right now then think we need to do it

Sometimes, though, it's not about playing your best 11 players irrespective of whether it makes sense. If you can't fit those players into a sensible formation that gives the team balance and gets your best players playing in their best positions then you might have to play a less good player to provide the balance you are missing. That's why I am desperate for us to go back to 4141 with a midfield 3 of Wilf,  Youri and Maddison as a 10, with either Albrighton or Perez wide on the right. By playing Maddison as a right winger, Rodgers has repeated the same mistake that Sven made when he tried to shoehorn Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes into his England team,  and played Scholes on the left wing. The result is an unhappy Maddison, an unbalanced team, a right back who has to cover the whole side of the pitch alone, etc.

I think this will best as well but can see the reason why he’s changed from that is KDH a form last season also enabling Maddison to get more goals and assists. Unfortunately made the team as a whole go backwards

Suppose so. The way our full backs are playing and how Brendan is now playing players out of position, get the nose in defence.

after all these years one thing is certain, he’s still our best right winger 🤷‍♂️

if we’re going to be shit, i’d rather do it with someone with our best interests on the pitch.

Back to basics.
