Concerning that we still haven't shifted one piece of deadwood. Instead, two of our best players have left (well, one is about to go).

Hard to recalibrate with wasters like Vestergaard and Bertrand on massive wages going nowhere.

I mean, if we don't spend any money this season at all, yet rake in money for sales from Fofana and anyone else who exits the door before dealine day.  Then surely, whoever is at the helm next summer has one huge war chest to spend.

Maybe this season, as crap as it sounds, is just about staying up, and making the huge strides next season

Even without the pandemic there revenue was always going to decrease, this article back in 2019 explained it.

Even in the murky world of state contracts and monopolies, I have often wondered why King Power hasn't used its new brand awareness (since 2016) to expand out of Thailand into other markets.

I'd rather do it this way than overspend on dross the last week of the window. If there are good deals to be made, great. Otherwise, plug any holes with loans, and look to the summer of 2023 for the overhaul.

Usually why many who can’t end up purchasing western football clubs as it equals adulation if success is achieved.

Just about staying up, that's the problem. The club is in serious danger of throwing away all that's been built up in the past ten years. Most of us know what relegation smells like and there's more than whiff in the air.

Percy at the Telegraph already reported that only half of player sales would be made available for buying replacements.

Even if we get £80m-£100m for Fofana, £40m-£50m doesn’t get you very far.

Especially when you factor in that by next summer we’ve got tons of players leaving AND we’ll have gone 2-3 years without signing a player that improves the starting 11.

Off the pitch we’ll be starting from way behind the starting line. On the pitch we’re in very real danger of being in a relegation fight - potentially with a manager and set of players not up for that kind of fight.

With the current recruitment situation and general uncertainty around management we should be looking at the kind of shitty loan with option deals that other clubs have used on us for a long time. If they're shit/Brendan is sacked and the new manager isn't keen then there's not a great loss plus will save some cash for the big squad issues that are coming around next summer where we will need 5 or 6 first teamers to replace the expiring contracts.

£80 million for Fofana should cover the wage bill for this season. Congrats LCFC you are balancing the books. I don't expect any transfers in though lol.

We are selling a player for 75+ million and trousering at least 65 million or so of it and still no sign of any incomings. Boy we are so skint its unreal.

2 Champions league campaigns would have diluted this

Unlikely really. We would’ve gone in as 4th seeds and more likely than not crashed out in the group stages. It wouldn’t be like in 2017 where we were 1st seeds and got a Europa League level group.

Going out of the CL in the group stages doesn’t give that much more an income than reaching the later stages of the EL or Conference League. Certainly not to the level to cover 30%+ of your club’s entire annual wage bill.

That's no good if you are relegated though is it? Not going to make huge strides in the championship and the loss of the premier league money will negate any money stored up from this season.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch0QwyvjIXn/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Spotted this on Insta which is quite concerning but inevitable due to covid! Tops worth has dropped from $5.9bn to $1.7bn since 2019!!

Tourism in Thailand will take years to fully recover with only approx 25% of the pre covid levels of international arrivals expected this year. Europe going through a cost of living crisis and travel from China still under travel restrictions won't help either. My Brother lives on Koh Samui and said its still dead with a lot of the restaurants serving European food shutting down over the last couple of years. He now has to move to the mainland to try & find work or move back to the UK after almost 20 years
