Impossible without switching services though, you'd have to go Derby to Tamworth (not "via" as such) and then probably even onto Birmingham New Street first.

The change usually only adds on about half an hour to your journey than if you go Derby to St Pancras, but can save you loads of cash. Did Leicester>Nuneaton>Euston once and I think it was about the same.

Where are the best watering holes for this game?  Not a lot of suitable places near the ground. Usually stop off at Liverpool Street.

Best place near the ground is the Beer Merchants Tap nearby Hackney Wick station. A couple of brewery places nearby too

I’m driving for this one. Anyone know where would be best to park, either near stadium or a short train / tube?

Last time we went to walk round and do the slide we parked in Westfield’s shopping centre as they have three big multi stories and the ground is only about 5 mins away.. we will probably do the same this time

Epping Tube Station is usually a good place to park. Just keep an eye on M25 traffic and use Stanmore or Cockfosters if it looks too bad. Stanmore is a long time on the train though

Actually thinking about it Cockfosters isn't great for this either. Similar to Stanmore, probably about an hour.  Epping, is about 30 mins on the train.
