Sly Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 No idea if he can catching anything from corners though. Looks like he’ll shout at folk like Kasper does.
Sly Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 And he’s saved more in this game …. Than Ward has this season.

The move to start punching the ball had different success and now catching the ball is frowned upon. Very much line tennis, all baseliners no serve and volley. You just hope that a keeper emerges, who has watched the past greats and has the belief, that securing the ball by catching it, is how he wants to play. Just going by this show reel, he is an instinctive Keeper, very much like Kasper. 1
JimJams Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 It's not frowned upon. The balls are now far lighter and move more, and make it harder to get purchase on them, so it's deemed better by some to parry and punch than catch because the risks are lower if you mess up. If you never messed up either then I would imagine everyone would rather catch the ball.
Nick Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 Maybe we are looking for a homeland role model for Jakub - the future Polish no.1

TMELcfc Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 Can remember him being talked about quite a bit 3-4 years ago, but not heard much since (then again, I don’t follow Italian football as much as I used to). From the highlights reel he looks like a handball player, shades of Kasper… but doesn’t catch a thing 😂 everything is palmed / punched away - but YouTube can warp reality
steveherbe Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 FFS why? We already have an untried Premier League keeper in Iversen. Why waste money on an untried Pole who MAY be good enough. Just give Iversen a bloody run for God's sake, can't be any worse than Danny " Stevie Wonder" Ward. 1

Tielemans63 Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 Never heard of this guy. Never seen him play and yet I know he's definitely better than Danny Ward. 1
Chester Dontlie Posted 8 October 2022 Posted 8 October 2022 I've seen him play many times in Serie A for Fiorentina and couple times for Poland as well. More than decent and still very young for a keeper. Can't believe they would sell him in January even for good money, he's only been there for a couple months and they need a reliable keeper like him to stay up (The Spezia board apparently did they homework unlike our lot). Would he be a good signing? I believe so. Could he save us from relegation? No, even prime Manuel Neuer alone won't. The real question is, why did we let Kasper go without having a proper #1 and must rely on Danny Ward who was #2 since forever? And why was bloody Iversen never given a chance??? The bloke is the same age as Drągowski and apparently they loved him at PNE, the supporters on PNE forum said he was their PotS, best keeper and so on, FFS!!! What's going on? I'm as as baffled as anyone here. 1
The People's Hero Posted 12 October 2022 Posted 12 October 2022 I like the j at the end of his first name. There aren't enough names with a J at the end. Even less with a J in the middle I imagine.

I would not be surprised if Ward did not have, had a hand in getting Kasper out the door. Your reasoning that Ward has been a number #2 for some time says it all, he would not have had the necessary game time to hone his skills, unlike Iversen having been out on loan. Rank bad planning and team management. If we continue to repeat these performances, then the threat of relegation is clearly there for all to see. My take on the situation was that Rodgers would have been stripped of his role by now and we would bring someone in who would turn all this around. I am now of the opinion that Khun Top will not under any circumstances terminate Rodgers's contract, and as a consequence, we could go down. It is hard to keep parting with your money, especially in these uncertain times of large bills and dire financial outlooks, and the club to turn a blind eye and press on. 1
