Definitely possible maybe Top has had enough especially after the passing of his father and King Power recovering from the pandemic.

Could be why we didn't get rid of Rodgers and no signings.. let's hope not though.

Build a memorial garden and statue then leave risking new owners ripping it out not this soon I don't think.

If there's any sales in the pipe line it could be any of KPs assets.

I would imagine the passing of his father has deepened, not weakened, Top's commitment to the club. I think it would be an enormous wrench for him to walk away from a place that is so strongly associated with his father, and which has a statue of him outside the ground.

I don't think there's any mystery about the lack of signings - we were under watch from UEFA and were desperate to bring the wage bill under control. The club recognise that this made things hard for Rodgers, which probably is one of the reasons they've been patient with him. Also there are few decent replacements available, as the likes of Wolves have discovered.

Also, no reputable media organisation is reporting this. Teamtalk is a joke. If there were any truth in this, it would have been reported elsewhere.

It could be that KP are looking for outside investment into the club (like West Ham have done but without the expectation of a full take over)

lazy placement of rumours in the wider media could bring some enquiries from potential investors who may not have been envisaged as be8mg interested.  asking a finance house to put it out there officially may not be a route that King Power want to go down as it may bring questions about the viability of the group and cash position

Invest hundreds of millions of pounds in the club and its infrastructure right up until the moment you bamboozle everyone by announcing it's up for sale.

Definitely happening.

And as for our unnamed pub-going source, does anyone genuinely think that he'd be ITK about highly confidential board-level information? If so, I have a bridge to sell you.

Personally think it's very believable.

What more can top achieved here? He's not got the funds to compete with barely the top 10 in the league now.

That said, I doubt anyone would know for sure, even those on the board. There were certainly some weird decisions made in the summer which indicate something is up.

Been a rumour for a while, in the whole started by someone senior at the club talking while pissed up apparently.

This didn't even happen because the person it was alleged to be hasn't been very well at all.

Not spending any money in the summer has probably amplified it. Wouldn't be surprised either why.

Yeah exactly that. Looks like a business positioned to sell its growth potential (stadium) and its excellent infrastructure (training ground) while recognising they maybe can’t continue to sustain the growth (KP impacted by Covid).

Wouldn’t be shocked at all, regardless of the sources within the article.

Fair enough, like I mentioned. Was all a rumour.

If it was being actively marketed for sale then stories from respected financial and sports journalists would have arisen. An out of the blue takeover offer may happen but then again may not.

More likely the Club is in a consolidation phase - as part of that financing/refinancing is the norm.

It’s a business and part passion project but the passion project is and should be secondary for KP - that’s the same with all their non-core activities I would think. It will inform decision making and influence it but not dictate it.

I guess the question is are LCFC losing KP money or losing a greater proportion than any of their other assets?

Whilst the source is beyond questionable:

- what else is there for Top to experience winning? Isn’t going to be the Europa or Champions League any time soon

- the lack of investment indicates financial stability is more important than in pitch performance atm. Also rumours the relationship with Rogers isn’t where it was before

- Top is definitely attending far fewer games recently

- the new training ground and stadium would be attractive infrastructure for future investors, not a reason not to sell

I wouldn’t be surprised either way.

not debating any of those points apart from his attendance at games

this season I think he has only missed the two Manchester teams at home.  No idea if he’s been at any away games ?

given that he is based in Bangkok rather than London , I think his home game attendance this season has been a higher rate than previous ones. (Covid exceptions excluded of course)

KP stadium, korea power ?

I could see it now, they would be showing our title winning season every year back in N korea so that they could claim to have turned us into the best club like they are doing with the country.

Nah I don’t see a sell off. When in times of trouble the rumor mills churn. In the absence of any official announcements the airwaves are filled with chatter.

it’s no suprise the club have suffered recently. The likeliest possibility I see is Top bringing in cash investment from elsewhere but I’m not worried. He’ll make sure it’s done right and all controlling stakes are still with him. The possibility of him to sell everything is always there but why would he? We are all in this together and it’s a tough time. Let’s see what happens at the end of the season.

If it is being sold it's likely the only people that know would be the board - some of them may of needed to sign NDA's too. Of course whichever advisor(s) they were using too

I agree, but occasionally word gets out.
