I'm only following qualifying on the live timing, but Charles Leclerc/Ferrari...? WTF? Out in Q1... :P

Perez and Russell out in Q2.  Still expecting Verstappen to get pole - what happens behind him could be interesting though....

Verstappen, Sainz and Norris top 3.  Go Lando... :P

Was it as dull as this when Merc were on top? I genuinely don’t remember but I don’t think I’ve ever been as uninterested in F1 as I am now

Yeah it was for a few seasons, 😂 you have a top driver in the top car this is what happens…

although Hamilton’s team mates were actually allowed to race him …

Probably was tbh but there were 2 drivers competing at least .

And Ferrari were a threat at times but they are  like a Spurs .

Promise so much but don’t deliver.

I've watched religiously for the last 30 years bit even I'm bored of it now. Gave up sky F1 and just watch the channel 4 highlights.

New wave of DTS fans and also insufferable Dutch fans don't help for me lol Years ago they hated one guy dominating, they soon piped down or still claim it's not as big a gap to 2nd as what Mercedes had it lol all fanbases have their wrong'uns but I very rarely come across a level headed Max fan.

As a Hamilton fan, simply from that perspective, I enjoyed 14-20. In some of those years I totally see and accept that the spectacle for neutrals wasn't great, I say that as someone who doesn't believe there has to be a ding dong battle for the lead for a race to be considered good. But as someone mentioned above, now the dominant team puts all their eggs in one basket from day one. At least Mercedes didn't favour one driver over the other until it was clear they had to do so

As soon as the first three turns were done, so was the race

we’ need some crashes five laps from the end to make it look like there was a race

Mercedes upgrades need to be judged in a hotter track environment and they are apparently bringing a much wider range of changes for the British gp.

It's also weird that 2 of the last 3 races now there hasn't been as much as a yellow flag, let alone a red flag, SC or DNF. Red Bull spent most of 2016-2020 recording wins only because of late safety cars which allowed them to gamble, just doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I think it's obvious the Merc upgrades have improved the car quite a lot, but I would expect they are still roughly level with where AMR is in a best-case scenario, Toto admitted that everything went right for them today from Tyre deg to track temp, he said that every condition suited them perfectly. The worrying thing is, everything went their way today, and they are still slower than Max who was on harder tyres all race. Lewis started on Softs, Max on meds, Lewis went to meds, and Max to hards. Max hit track limits a few times but I don't think he was on the limit at all.

Great progress from Merc, hell of a drive from Lewis and George, but Max is in no danger yet, hopefully towards the end of the season we can see more of a battle.
Horrendous from Lando today, they knew they would be going backwards over race distance but targeted the top 10, Lando could barely land a blow on back markers, and what a mistake on Lap 1, unlucky that Lewis had to brake, but he was going for a gap that just wasn't going to exist.
Ferrari being Ferrari again, the drivers need to improve, but you could Ferrari a 30s headstart and they would finish out of the podium places.

So who will be behind Verstappen on the grid ?

Rain might play a part potentially.

Mercedes did well in FP2 but had a nightmare earlier .

Probably be another good race behind MV after Leclerc and Perez had shockers again whilst Alonso impressed once more.

Credit to Haas for getting a quick one in before rain stopped play !

Sainz will probably be in some trouble just to compound Ferraris misery .

EDIT:

The Hulk doesn’t  even get to start from 2nd now.
