If Alves was good enough he'd be in the team. It's not a question of age or anything else. It comes down to him being good enough.

By that I mean, tactically aware and physically strong enough. When I've seen him, he looks technically very good. But little appreciation of positioning and space.

Needs a senior loan. We need to get our players on loan. Worked wonders for Barnes and KDH.

It's not that simple. Cole Palmer is one of the best players in the world and didn't get enough of a go at Man City. Tony Pulis preferred Alex Pritchard to Sergen Gnabry etc

You've picked out two examples there. There are thousands of examples where if you are good enough you are in the team.

Without ever playing here or on loan we will never know.

Training isn't a game. He needs chances, you can't take one if you only get a token amount of minutes here and there.

The worst case scenario is if he starts the odd cup game, he doesn't impress but it increases the likelihood of a better loan. Way better than where we are now.

With the news we're looking to bring in a LW. He seriously needs to go on loan. He's too far down in the pecking order and Ruud can't afford to take a gamble on him.

We see seasoned pro's with little appreciation of position and space, making the team week in, week out.

Nothing would surprise me with this shambolically run club but why is he in the squad if he rarely plays and we don't loan him out?

Cole Palmer was behind some incredibly talented players winning most trophies around.

Not really comparable to our bunch, plus. It's not like it's one manager not thinking he's ready. It's been what, 3 / 4 / 5 managers now?

They like him enough seemingly not to loan him out but not to play him for 10 minuets here and there. We need to do what's best for his development, his current purgatory isn't helping.

He's also 19 so the last 3/4/5 managers spans back as far 2018. When we're hoping and changing managers they're obviously going to be short terms in their decisions. You might think that's a good reason not to play him, fair enough. In that case loan him out. There absolutely will be teams in L1 or L2 that would take him on loan.

He's fit an available for Ruud, so not sure why it's down the club? We;ve got him on a long term deal to protect his value and the current manager isn't interested in picking him? Neither was the last or the one before that.

He just needs a loan and a run of 15 games in the second part of the season - if it doesn't happen then we must not have clubs breaking the door down to take him on, or he's turning them down.

KDH didn’t kick a competitive ball in anger till he was well over 21 for what it’s worth

Which is either ultra-conservative and/or ridiculous IMO.
Meanwhile Spain play a 16 year old in the European Cup Final.

2 at most. He was brought in by Rodgers for his debut 3 years ago, then got injured, so was out under Smith and the majority of Maresca. Cooper neglected him but Cooper would throw Yamal in the ressies so he could play Andros Townsend, then he's got some minutes under RVN.

So why did I suffer from a millions requests to play him under Maresca? He was back playing in November and didn’t get a look in all season :D

Training isn't a game, no.

But if you've actually been close to a professional session you'll realise it's far away from child's play too.

The intensity they train at is actually mad and I don't think you or others would appreciate it unless you've been up close to a session or two.

You can tell alot in training at the level were at

He got injured every time Enzo talked him up in his pressers. Was so frustrating.

Convenient. So the second coming of Christ is injury prone. Answers a few questions. ;)

He’s hardly kicked one in the past 6 months either.

he started to make his comeback, made a match day squad v Watford then had an injury setback, as is very common when coming back from an ACL. The only manager he's been readily available for and completely unused is Cooper

To be fair he was recovering from a brutal ACL and as we've seen with Ricardo and Justin too they both got a string on muscular injuries in the 1st year back.

He's trained almost all season so far with the 1st team so hopefully he's back properly now.

Somebody told me he's going Brum on loan. No idea if it's true but would be a great loan, providing he can get in the team

Could have legs? Chris Davies would know lots about him, and his potential.
