Nothing against the over 65's but a 50% discount seems a bit mad. I don't think (?!) Leicester give such a discount do they?

50% seems very high so guess they want to bring that inline with other clubs.

Just leads on to questioning why over 65's get senior discounts across the board in most things

Yeah I have no idea as realistically it isn't even retirement age now either.

Whilst you're at it ... you might as well ask why under 22's, under 18's, under 16's (or whoever) get discounts?         I'm sure there must be a reason .....................

The amount of state pension someone receives depends on the amount of years they have been contributing to NI.Up to 35 years maximum.Whatever you contribute now has nothing to do with it.I’m sure you know this.

I've paid a huge amount more in tax and NI every month over the last 40years, and that doesn't include my years in the services. I can look forward to my measly £200 a week state pension in a few years time, so a bit of discount before I shuffle off this mortal coil isn't just appreciated it's fricking paid for, and when I do go, what I've paid for will be snaffled up by the next generation whether they've paid anything or not, in one way or another!  I hate that argument from younger generations. Wait till you're old and can't afford one of your life's pleasures!  Not that every match so far has been a pleasure mind you. Rant over 🤷‍♂️

It seems some of us aren’t happy unless we all pay top whack. No wonder the race to the bottom is such an easy sell.We love it really

Not really  I don't give a to$$ what anyone else pays, but if I'd paid an equal amount into a private pension I could have retired happily by now.  It's all too easy to lay the blame at the door of the older age group but we've paid are dues thank you. I've supported my club for a long time, even when I'm at the other side of the planet, like I am right now. If they want to support the pensioner group all power to them. When will people stop begrudging others a little help now and then in return for their investment over many years.  I'm pretty sure the next generation won't turn it down if it's offered either.

The question is wrong.

You shouldn’t be asking why 65+ pay 50% less, people should be demanding under-65s not pay 50% more.

There is no reason to raise the age to 67 a just because the Tories are cvnts doesn’t mean clubs have to be too.

KTFC sell reduced tickets to all over 60 - and that strikes me as something all clubs should be doing.

I think you may have misunderstood my post there

I honestly think that some people do think they are funding the State Pensions. I too worked for 40 years and paid my taxes and NI contributions, funding my own pension and paying towards Education, Health and benefits for others. This is how it works. So don’t worry grobyfox1990, you’re not paying for our pensions. We’ve done that ourselves.

That's not how it works though is it? When you were working and paying your tax and NI you were funding the pensions people were drawing then, and the current workers are paying for the current pensioners.

I thought was how it has always worked? Tax and NI is not like a private pension where it sits in your own personal pension pot, it's a state benefit paid for by the tax payers of the time

 I'm 77 years old in a couple of weeks, and can't afford pleasures...What p1sses me off with the cnut Sunak's "promise" is that any pensioner claiming housing benefits etc. will loose those benefits immediately their pensions increase.

No you haven’t done that yourselves. You worked for 40 years to pay those older than you pensions. I am now working to pay your pension. When I retire, I will get no pension.

Haha yeh, thought this was common knowledge but apparently not! Maybe all these posters are fishing like me! Anyway, way to hijack a thread, apologies all.

Sadly, what the comments on this topic over the past couple of seasons has shown is the mutual disrespect and dislike between the older/younger supporters. This attitude is probably reflected in life in general. Instead of being united by our love for Leicester City, we are disunited by our disdain for the different generations we attend matches with.
