Guilt trip! Nobody's been "arsed" to sing for him for the past 10+ years. Only now he's ill again. Doesn't mean nobody cares though.

Makes no sense.

That is exactly the reason they were singing for him, as a gesture that he's in the thoughts of the fans.

Yeah I get that, just I always thought people like him should be sang for all the time.

Tbf I don't often disagree with your posts. Suppose I got defensive of the Kop criticism but it's fair as I am one of few that join in with songs but there isn't many.

Not sure whether it was my hearing being a bit distorted as I was few rows behind the drum, but thought apart from the sack the board chants at the end the section was pretty quiet today it seemed. Not much to shout about after half time but in the first half dreadful.
I’ve mentioned before that shouting wooooot sounds like hes being booed and it adds to the cringeworthy songbook. When the team is at an all time low, probably would seem to wout on the pitch he is being targeted.

SK2 also proved what a casual supporting block they are. Just sit there for a solid 90 with an occasional tap of the clappers and then stand up and applaud the team at full time.
These people are so casual it hurts to see.. where’s the backing of the team? Where’s the passion? Where’s the desire to stay up?

Wow today  was the quiest I've ever heard in a long time,it feels like everyone is resigned to relegation, not that I'm having ago before anyone says anything totally understandable!!!

Has KPFC installed temporary speakers in any areas of the King Power Stadium besides the West Stand?

I noticed a big improvement in the  bass sound pre-match. The current PA sound system around the ground is awful and not fit for purpose.

The temporary speakers would appear to be an acknowledgement that the stadium sound systems are pants.

I was in G1 for the first half yesterday. I didn’t realise how loud the section actually is. When you’re in it, you think it’s really quiet.

And me, as someone who enjoys singing, found it really difficult to join in with the SK1 chants when everyone else around me didn’t contribute a bit (not even clapping). It just felt awkward.

Second half I spent with my cousin and his mate downstairs in the concourse having a few drinks, then went up to the front of SK1 to sing about Rudkin and the board for the last 10 minutes. By which point the rest of the stadium was empty.

People only do it when he's done something good so I doubt he feels like he's being booed.

Not sure you can criticse the support when you spend half the game in the concourse.

First time I’ve ever done it. And the only reason was because of a combination of what was happening on the pitch and the fact that the stands were completely silent:

As soon as seats appeared in the singing section, I went straight up.

Also, I wasn’t criticising - just saying what I thought during the game 👍

Could we please get rid of the drum in L block !

Whoever is drumming hasn’t a clue about what they’re doing.  But even if he was Keith Moon (look him up you young’uns), WE DONT NEED A DRUM !

The drummer-

They carry on drumming when people stop singing, so it just ends up with them drumming, which sounds crap.

They drum to chants that don’t need a drum, for example the ‘Leicester, Leicester’ chant.

It usually ends up being used by the away fans rather than L block. For example, Fulham (YES FULHAM, one of the worst supported teams in the league), used it yesterday to chant along to, and then they (this is FULHAM, we’re talking about) proceeded to take the mick out of us having a drum.

Get rid now! PLEASE

IT IS TINPOT.

Learn some of the old songs and chants, YOU DONT NEED A DRUM !

Times have moved on.

How about trying a song that shows fighting spirit in desperate times.  This old sing-along, with a few tweaks:

Well, we’re on our way to seven (teenth), we shall not be flushed

it sure don’t smell like heaven, but we shall not be flushed

Just like a turd that’s floating in the water bowl

We shall not be flushed

We shall not, we shall not be flushed

We shall not, we shall not be flushed

Like a turd that’s floating in the water bowl

We shall not be flushed

(or if Everton want to nick it, fair enough.)

Something I meant to mention a while back but which has been getting on my nerves more and more - who on earth is still singing "Blue Flag Flying High?"

You're idiots. Look at the table. We've been "mastered" for at least two years at this point, and were humbled on our own turf earlier in the season. Right now it couldn't be less self-aware. Embarrasing hearing it sung by anyone right now. At the very least suck it up and change Forest to Derby until the day we're above them in the pyramid again.

We're also not by far the greatest the world has ever seen. But we can still sing it as do most other clubs that really can't claim that title. Just generic football songs that everyone knows the words to.

About time we took down the 'Foxes never quit' sign though.

I think everyone can see the irony in the "greatest team" chant, like you said everybody sings it up and down the country, regardless of history or their place in the pyramid - but nobody is singing blue flag ironically. They sing it because we hate Forest, not out of some weird form of self-deprecation. They probably haven't taken even a second to think about what they're singing.

And the reality is, some people are thick as pig shit and haven't looked at the table, or recent results. Sing that "we hate Nottingham", fine, sing "build a bonfire", fine, but don't persist with the direct comparison while we're in this embarrassing position. I get new wrinkles from cringing every time I hear it. Unless by some miracle we win at the City Ground in the spring, we shouldn't be hearing it again for a while.

Bit odd that you've been rattled so much by people singing this, it's a good chant.

By your logic, we can't sing it again as "we've never been mastered" is out the window as soon as we lose to them.

Do you also cringe at chants like who put the ball in Southampton's net?

Ermm ackshooly only 5 scored so we're below the necessary 5.5 for this chant to be factually correct!

They have but I also agree totally with the OP, since Jobber packed it in the L1 drum has been absolutely horrific.

Drummers should be removed from football stadiums full stop.

I sit in the East stand and I've got the L1 drummer droning on to my right and a Keith Moon tribute act to the left.
