Vardy needs games.

That's how he gets fit and sharp.

He needs continuity.

 

Probably why he's been so poor this season.

Should play every game and come off when/if tired.

Hopefully we're lucky and we put the game to bed before half time and quickly get them all off the pitch. Knowing our luck theyll all slip over a banana peel in the dressing room and break all their limbs though

Who else could we play though? We have no other wingers apart from Barnes and Perez and no other strikers apart from the 3 in the squad. Just throwing a load of kids in is very risky. A defeat or draw, or even a narrow win where we play shite will be a huge deal for the club and have huge repercussions, Brendan knows this and wants to win easy. Our attack should score 2 or 3 fairly early on against these and then make subs later on.

Good. I've come to terms with Tielemans as Captain a lot of the time, despite him leaving, as he's shown complete professionalism throughout this saga. However, Albrighton not being named Captain despite being our Vice Captain would have been a farce.

Can only presume Braybrooke isn't starting because a) he's been injured and b) a midfield duo of him and Mendy would be hilarious.

 

What on earth is that system?

Brunt is 22, McAteer 21. They're not old by any means. It is odd that McAteer has been out on loan but Brunt hasn't though.

He’s been poor because he’s coming to the end of his career at this level and he’s playing in a piss poor side. He’s a legend but the clock is ticking and fast.

Must be 3-4-3 with Brunt playing CB? As long as Albrighton isn't playing RB I think it's an okay side considering the opposition. Not a fan of the defence anyway, but it rests our first choice back 5, so I'm okay with that.

Not sure I’d have much hope they’ll ever break into our side when you think how much football the likes of Ndidi had played for us at their age.

Brunt was only signed to give the U21s more physicality at the back, as with Nelson I doubt he'd get in Rochdales team.

Because he is still trying to persuade someone who doesn't want to be here, to stay and this must be his way of doing it. If he doesn't want to be here, he shouldn't be anywhere near the captains armband. What does that show to other players that are committed?

He wants the sack with that line up, system and formation. 
 

Nothing to suggest he has a clue what he’s doing other than picking players for the sake of it.

I agree. I think McAteer has a chance, but he is typically an attacking LWB and he's not better than Thomas in a position we're looking to buy for anyway. I think he can go on to have a good career though, he just needs game time!

 

Brunt seems to have done okay whenever he's played for us, but doesn't scream 1st team for us. As @lcfcsnow says, he was brought in to strengthen the U21s it seems. Which is perfectly fine if it helps the other players thrive.

I'm sorry but Vardy all round game is pretty decent and is one of a few with any real football intelligence in the squad, his two main problems are the lack of chances he gets and his finishings off.

Hes still ‘next in command’ so technically he should take the armband surely? Not surprised though from a leaderless team

Other than a defensive partnership that doesn't want to be here, I don't mind that. Interesting to see how McAteer does and not surprised its a wing back rather than full back. Perez, Iheanacho and Vardy should be able to create against these. Without Maddison I think we have to stick with this formation.

I might be being dismissive, but it’s difficult to get excited about a young player getting minutes when they’re around 22 and will probably never be first team level. I know people will cite KDH to counter this, but he’s the exception rather than the rule. At least he was impressing in the championship at that age
