There was a stagnation in the camp and with the names announced, although not hugely exciting, they seem right. Coady is an absolute coup on and off the pitch, exactly the kind of 1st signing to get me onside. Winks, although safe, is an instant upgrade on present day Ndidi. Then, if we can get Piroe done and dusted, what a statement of intent that is! A few Man City loans in the right positions, then it could be argued we'd have a stronger XI than last season.

The latter two will leave on a free next summer if we don’t sell. Castagne will go to Juventus I’m guessing. Praet will go. Hoping Barnes stays but maybe I’m being overly optimistic. Daka could also be gone. I assume Piroe is strongly linked because he replaces Daka or Nacho.
splinterdream Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 All the offers are going to come in late in the window aren’t they as clubs try to grab a bargain
LFox99 Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 Could see RC Lens being interested in Bouba. Fofana just left for Saudi Arabia after Lens qualified for the UCL, physically and role wise I'd say they're a similar profile

I think there's still enough goodwill in his reputation back in France to recoup £8-10m. Get him gone so we can spunk it all on a PL cast off.

Dan Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 Lens signing Andy Diouf which probably fills that void sadly.

LFox99 Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 I really wouldn't mind getting linked to some more exciting players before the end of the week
Claudio Fannieri Posted 28 June 2023 Posted 28 June 2023 I will judge our transfer business at the end of the window, it looks like we are concentrating on building a solid and experienced spine with players prepared to drop down a division so should excel, what would really ace this transfer window would then be a sprinkling of younger, exciting attacking talent, if we do that then these two signings of Coady and Winks will be inspired moves.
LVFox Posted 29 June 2023 Posted 29 June 2023 Ethan Ampadu apparently available permanently from Chelsea. Would be a really solid CB/DM option 1 2

thegaffa Posted 29 June 2023 Posted 29 June 2023 Ethan ampadu would be a good mobile defensive midfielder for us.

I’m not saying he isn’t overrated but he isn’t terrible. he is not a good centre back but he is mobile and can play short simple passes. you have your opinion and I have mine.👍 1

Stick him on lower wages, keep him in the dressing room for this season. We can't just rely on Coady as the only leader at the club. Besides he can cover on the wings at at fullback if necessary late in the game.
