There’s almost 0 chance it will be a desirable long term appointment at this stage. And the pool of managers suited to the task is rather small which makes Rafa for 9/10 games almost a certainty surely.

Newcastle fan here. There was a lot of talk about Rafa going to you during his final months with us in 2019 before you ultimately went for Rodgers. I'm sure it was semi confirmed by Rafa without explicitly naming the club when he talked about him having the opportunity to leave near the end but not taking it out of loyalty to seeing his contract out.

 

His stock is low right now but he is a very good coach and he'd be one of the best immediate appointments to come in and work on what seems to be your main weakness (the defence). I think and hope you'll all be pleasantly surprised if you do indeed go for him.
